- one really positive thing to be mentioned, however, are the well-written and informative party reports. and really fresh, too - respect for squeezing an outline report in while the party was just two weeks ago!

- ok, i'm nearly through the mag's content. the enthusiasm displayed in this thread shows, in my opinion, the fact that the scene has gone quite hungry without a single pc diskmag issue in years... i wonder what would happen if zine would come back!..
as for this hugi issue: it's not as overwhelming as the above comments make it appear, and particularly the interviews done by magic are, unfortunately, rather generic and pale. one has the feeling that the interviewer doesn't really care about what the interviewed are saying, and instead of engaging in a dialogue with them, he just pounds them with question after question in no particular order.
still, there is some pretty interesting content, and the news section was particularly good, carrying some really fresh and interesting news. and the graphics are marvellous (can't say anything about the music 'cause i didn't have a chance to listen to it yet). in any case, thumbs up.
however, i have to say a few words about adok's epilogue. sure, adok, it's your mag, and you can be proud of yourself for having kept it up for 18 years - hardly any other diskmag editor can claim such a thing. but still, the whole "if you have written for hugi, your grandchildren will be proud of you"-thing, without the slightest touch of irony, is quite preposterous, isn't it? if you honestly think like that, you both overestimate the role of hugi in scene history and the role of the scene in society. our grandchildren will most likely not give a damn. to assume otherwise is ridiculous.
but what is more important, and in fact makes me quite bitter: while giving such a seemingly self-critical rundown of hugi history, including the unseen afair -- why keep silent about the EP affair? publishing a maniac who, over an article polemic, issued death threats to fellow sceners, subscribed fellow diskmag editors to hundreds of spam lists, sent letters of denounciation to the university hosting scene.org, and in fact still stalks some of the people involved after nine (!!!) years -- that's hugi history too, whether you like it or not. you gave the guy a platform long after his attacks against me and fellow pain editors became unacceptable and below-the-belt. and the fact that you, in your glossy success story, failed to critically reflect on that event that made being scener a pain in the ass for me for several years, is extremely disappointing. - rulezadded on the 2014-06-12 04:04:08

- What I probably love most about Pouet is when old guys come back and comment on their prods. Kudos for not forgetting the scene!

- flure, this would not be the first instance of such a "ridiculous" act. you seem to have a rather short scene memory. see the recent timelord vs. timelord affair. and it's exactly the point that kozmik/baudsurfer has apparently developed into an excellent coder that makes me wonder why he so desparately clinges onto some supposedly old glory - i completely fail to get to grips with this. i'm not (yet) making any accusations, i am merely asking for convincing clarification that baudsurfer has yet failed to provide.
as for the counterproductive, yet understandable attitude of TRSI members, i am surprised about the short memory most demosceners appear to have. look up all the fuzz about kozmik/"trsi" and/or nextempire to get a bit of an understanding of the tensions connected to this affair. - isokadded on the 2014-06-06 14:54:51

- I don't think the foremost question should be whether RSI is a separate group or not, but rather whether Baudsurfer really can claim the past he does claim. And, remarkedly, he has evaded my questions up to now.
