- demo Windows fr-041: debris. by Farbrausch [web]
- Definitely a milestone for the demo scene. Looks like we have to have a new reference for the next couple of years. I really hope it will not take another four years until we see something from fiver2!
Thought a while about some constructive critique:
-- the character animation sucks
-- no clouds at all
-- hund was much too big
Really really love it!

- I really love this production!
++ excellent color schemes (esp. gold / green yellow)
++ nice editing and camera angles
+ excellent composition / dov
- 2d overlays necessary?
- maybe slightly too long?
My favorite from the compo.

- demo Linux Windows Chimera by Halcyon
- Five years later: definetely one of the best demos ever made. Preselecting it from Assembly made it even more relevant.
Nice discussion, too. - rulezadded on the 2007-04-04 14:38:17

- Oh my god. This is soo wonderful. Although some of the later masks make it look like an unfinished piece, but somehow this makes it even cooler. Hard to describe...
I am probably a "one person target audience" because I prefer this to polished stuff like deities. - rulezadded on the 2007-04-03 17:30:38
- demo Windows Balance by Adapt [web]
- I really love this production. Especially the water drop scene. You should have left the text layers out, though.

- demo Windows Crypton by Lords of Liquor
- I really like it. Somewhere between chimera (antennas) and ballet dancer (dust particles, plane). I really like the geometry transitions.
But I was disappointed of the end... Letting it fly away looks awkward (like the Krull movie from the 80s) and makes the thing look small. I expected something like the ICE in the William Gibson's Neuromancer...

- demo Windows Constant Glow by Adapt [web]
- very very nice timing and general design. Without the scroller and the final image, it would been an outstanding production.
I have to check out your other productions... Looking forward for your next releases! - rulezadded on the 2007-03-20 21:50:39

- @visualice:
As a long term silent fan, I am absolutely stunned about this production. It not only shows an incredible talent (which by itself is a nice thing) but real artistic development (which I feel is very rare in the demo scene). I am really happy that you are still active and contributing. And at the same moment, I am somehow affraid that you at some point draw the conclusion that demo scene and art do not fit together and leave us, just like statix did.
About the production:
pro:
- Stunning soundtrack and atmosphere. I was not second "bored". I like demos I can think about, before watching them again. And again. I really doubt that this could be a "party production", because it looks like someone has put some thought into the theme before starting to build it.
contra:
- Some low poly objects disturb the overall quality
- Some minor sync problems (two or more frames off the tune)
- Some of the organic objects didn't look good enough.
@bonzaj:
Together with visualice you are one of my favorite scene artists and I am anxiously waiting of a new production for you for the last few years. I clearly remember our discussions at evoke about editing and art. So I can not understand your comments on this production. I know there are glitches and there aren't any of those cool new asd-like shaders and stuff. But I love the scene for it's diversity and tolerance. If we were at film business I would never dare to release any of my own productions, because I only can use Mad's old directx 7 engine. And would just laugh at me, what I use such outdated technology.
But here everybody can do his stuff with the technology he decides to use. Some use c64, some werkkzeug, some complex pixel shader pipelines. And most us have enough understanding to estimate what can be done with the used technology. For me watching this demo was just like watching Simpsons. I forgot about its render technology. I just saw a story. And for me this story was breathtaking trip.
