- 4k Windows synchroplastikum by Calodox

Maybe it helps. - isokadded on the 2005-09-07 08:31:46

- demo Windows Final Audition by Plastic [web]
- "Creepy" describes it best. I guess if it would had been a little bit less impressive, the audience would have freaked out, but so they were scared like shit. The applause was kept for the price-giving screening.
Personally I am scared too. It's nice to make 3rd places in compos with plastic-releases, but I wonder where the demo-scenes is going from here.
Bonzaj is the most frightening and lovable person I meet in the scene and I don't see any another active group (except asd) reaching this level of code and design.
I for my part just can't invest this amount of time and effort put into productions like this or "Fingers on my skin". Even with unlimited resource, I doubt I could ever reach this grade.
For me this is the best production of 2005 so far. And it was released at evoke. Wow ;-)

- demo Windows YAB3DFD by Smash Designs [web]
- + excellent technology
+ great lighting (I can feel the sun burning in the outdoor-scene)
+ good sense of self-irony (title)
- music
- static
- too long / unbiased
- looks somehow like a demo of a commercial product.
- water
This is the first sd-production I partly like. - isokadded on the 2005-08-29 12:10:01
- demo Windows fr-047: malpasset by Farbrausch [web]
- slashy: I don't suppose it was intended to win anything. I guess it's about telling something. Problem is that most sceners don't want to hear or think about anything.
My problems with the production:
- the pictures where nice but not all where destructive enough to support the intended mood
- reading the text distracted from image / without text, the images would not transport the message
- Too much text, to many images (I always need some seconds to really love a picture)
- The pictures where not abstract enough to turn the "breaking damm" into a metapher. But they were also not clear enough about the acutally happend catastrophy.
I really would like to see the concept of this production given a second try.
btw. I liked it a lot more than fr-046 and it's damn good the have such productions in a demo-compo.

- demo Windows Perfect Love by lkcc [web] & Bauknecht [web]
- wow!
That's a lot of good feedback! I am really glad you like this production.
The colors were too bright for beamer-presentation. I will never again use bright blue on white.
About the 3d-modeling: I have a lot of experience in detailing and texturing stuff, but in most occasions I feel it would do no good for the design. Somehow I like the most reduced ones most.
Gloom, cerror: Could you elaborate a little bit more on the incorrect syncing? I am *very* eager to improve on this front. Maybe you could give some timecodes (press T, space and page up/down). This would really help me.
Thanks again. Especially to all people at evoke. - isokadded on the 2005-08-29 11:46:26
- demo Windows Iconoclast by Andromeda Software Development [web]
- jesus, it is sooo long...
The visuals and the transisitions are breathtaking. Althought the amount of work is evident, I like "planet risk" more. At first I hated the music, but after watching a hundret times, I was converted. Maybe the same will happen with Iconoclast.
A big extra-thumb for recognizing 16:10 ;-)
