- On the one hand lots of content, an interesting design (I'm not sure ray marching is the best choice, but the mix of 3d scenes with manga plates works quite well in my opinion), and a good self contained story.
On the other hand, a lack of consistency and polishing, commercial material, and tomaes' comment.

- It's nice to see a demo well put together and not too demanding in horse power. My only criticism, content-wise, would be the lack of either normal mapping, texturing, or some sort of AO, which makes some of the scene look a bit bland. On the other hand, the blob shapes were pretty cool, especially the sliced gum rock. I also like the oldschool style with 2d artworks, although I'd recommend to watch You Should and see how they made it more vivid.
Sadly it crashed immediately at the ground circular screen scene.

It was running at native resolution at 1920x1200. At 1920x1080, the image was distorted (my screen has a 1.6 aspect ratio). When I tried 1400x900, the glow was not aligned correctly with the rest of the image.

- Usually I tend to frown upon demos that rely on a ready made engine. Nothing wrong with it and I'll usually take the position that's perfectly fine, apart from a nagging feeling that it takes away the technical aspect of demos. It's especially true if all a demo has to offer is basically what the engine offers out of the box, typically with UE4, its slick rendering and in-your-face lighting and post-processing.
But here it's not the case. What makes this demo worth watching is certainly not the engine. The solid visual design, ominous soundtrack and the carefully built up tension work to make a short but strong impression.
It is not without flaws either: the second scene feels out of place and amateur compared to the rest, and the skull LOD pop is hard not to notice.
So it's maybe not as strong as one of the most glorious earlier Assembly winners or best Quite demos, but I still wish I had seen it on big screen, because it must have been quite an experience. - rulezadded on the 2016-08-11 07:51:13

- Blatant steal. That some source code is available doesn't mean you can take it and pass it as your own.

- The concept works well, and I'm impressed by the piano sound although I have no idea how difficult that is to pull off.
