- d3dx is not a dll, but glu is.
and anyway, you can't really do much more with d3dx apart from not having to write your own matrix/vector/texture routines which wouldn't take up that much space anyway.
as far as I see, SDL was only used for opening the window and replaying the music. sure, it can be natively ported to windows, hell it even may've reached ~4k there, but if their choice was Linux, then it was probably the best way to choose sdl since it's small (few imports) and it's considered a part of the OS anyway... same way as people think about directx or opengl libraries under windows. - isokadded on the 2004-04-07 10:35:15

- red-: to quote a certain album name, your version crashed "slow deep and hard" :(

- hihi :) fun! (especially the sounds :)
some points of criticism tho:
- overall a bit uneven-paced; ball goes sloow for a while, than speeds up a LOT, then goes back slow, etc.
- pause the game while showing the options window please :)
- volumesettings would be nice
- alternative control settings too
- there's a really ugly click at the end of the "hello!" sample, remove that please :X
- not much of an excitement after a while... did YOU try actually reaching like, 10-15 points? :)
anyway, thumbs up, and i'm waiting for a glitchless version :) - rulezadded on the 2004-04-04 22:55:53

- the music alone deserves a thumb up, the design and graphics are cool, the code is standard object show with some nice stuff :)
some things worth mentioning:
- the first object seemed to have a really bad day ("hey, let's view half of the polygons only and try to convince the others it's design" :)
- how the hell did you manage to miss ALL (and i mean ALL) the syncs in that poor demo? :))
- perfect example of having a speechsynth, having subtitles, and STILL making it a puzzle to figure out :) guys, the subtitles were set up BAD :) - rulezadded on the 2004-03-29 17:43:49
