No source = no like
Well, you could show some of your prods and their source :)
Also, if you're terribly curious, nothing stops you from disassembling the prod and inspecting the source. Shader source is saved as text in the executable. - isokadded on the 2022-01-13 16:01:44

- demo Windows One Chillion Dots by Rebels
- too much DOF for my taste, it hides the scene, which is quite interesting sometimes, and glitches dramatically sometimes. Rebels logo kicks ass.

DaD1916: This prod uses my small collection of tricks - ("The aldi engine") :) It's lots of tricks I learned from Mercury and Alcatraz (Huge <3 to both groups! Without the inspiration, I'd likely still be making 8k intros), a multi-pass optimization I got from Fred0/K2 and some flow optimizations that I came up with myself. The main benefit I get from the "engine" is CMake - it can auto-choose the integrated synthesizer (supports oidos & 4klang as of now), and it has a youtube-video-encoder cheat that allows to record the demo in 60fps. :D
For the boilerplate compression it uses Crinkler and the CTRL-ALT-TEST-Minifier.
For the shaders in my 4k intros I use either Shadertoy or ShaderBoi. I don't use any graphical modeling or camera tools at all.
In the near future i'm working to include my own minifier into the engine, and to port the remaining C code to x86 assembly (to get rid of the C compiler dependency and save some bytes because of the better entropy you can achieve with assembly-only code). - isokadded on the 2021-12-13 15:18:47
