- This is one of the demos I would have loved to see in the actual compo, seeing it fresh without knowing anything beforehand. Like, those fullscreen hires 3d scrollers coming up... what is this!? There are too few magical new effects anymore these days, and reading the technical explanations waters down the fun. It should say WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS

- demo MSX io by Logon System
- It's an MSX demo that currently works on some MSX1 models (and there are dozens of them, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_MSX_compatible_computers#MSX), but could probably be patched to support most of them with some more effort. Which could mean anything between a few weeks to several years, who knows. It's a great demo, so I hope Overflow has enough willpower and stamina and help from the worldwide MSX community to add support for all different models. Basically, it's a completely crazy effort, something that MSX sceners have only joked about, because it has been considered rediculously tedious. But now Overflow has already almost done it... or is it just the beginning? ;) Anyway, the effects are something that has never been done on the MSX1, an entirely new category of effects is possible if you're able to accurately sync to scanlines like that. And that's not the only new trick here.
To the MSX community, compatibility has always been a strong part of the scene identity, what it means to use MSX compared to other home computers. So, a demo that doesn't support different models goes against that mentality in a way. Though nowadays there are these people who only use emulators or watch youtube videos... ;) - isokadded on the 2015-03-17 17:33:21

- Great demo, great new MSX stuff. But I couldn't get it to work on Toshiba HX-10, PAL 50Hz 64kB machine, with the Nowind interface.

I need to try again with an actual floppy drive. Maybe Nowind is taking up some bytes? But the error message is about CPU speed, not memory? - isokadded on the 2015-03-15 22:37:24

- Great classic! Would be in all-time top 5 if the music had killer pop melodies like Extension, Second Reality and Dope.
