  The music is from the old Soviet movie "Bespridannitsa" (Girl with no Dowry, 1937). This is a fragment of the XIXth century Russian song "To ne veter vetku klonit" (It's Not the Wind that Bends the Branch; composed by A. Varlamov, lyrics by S. Stromilov). This is what the lyrics are saying:
  
  I am worn down by my sorrow,
  Stealthy snake beneath the tree,
  Burn, my wood-brand, there's no morrow,
  And I shall burn out with thee.

• I think that it is really unfair to judge an innovative demo like this on the grounds of compatibility only, especially since the author implemented several secret screens and additional music tracks, which are only shown and played to people on incompatible platforms.
  
  Some of the effects here (like shifting vertical bars) may appear unappealing to people from other platforms, but synchronised drawing outside of the screen, on the border area, like this demo does in many effect transitions and effects, requires 1 to 4 cpu tacts precise instructions in every frame, including the effect codes, the music player, literally, everywhere. I can understand why some people do not like this style of effects, but the whole topic of design vs coding is just not very relevant here. Surely, this demo has both.

• It is not easy to reproduce just how lame the lyrics are. We are talking about stances that sound something like this:
  "I went into some fog, because I've got no choice, and while in there I stepped onto god knows what and then I heard a voice".
  Basically, that guy was running late for the demo party, took a short-cut through a fog and stepped onto a hedgehog. Hedgehog is unhappy and he tells the guy that one does not need to rush anywhere, thanks to wonders of online party translations.

• This demo does not develop much and is not very beautiful.
  However, it is quickly paced, has a great tune and is dense and non-trivial effect-wise.

• Sorry, I cannot say I "like" it, but the poetry (in Russian) is so bad it's good and the last screen is seriously crazy, in a positive sense of the word.

• Great joke and hugely non-trivial implementation. Although, it does leave you slightly unsatisfied: a pimped-up Spectrum, surely, must be capable of something greater effect-wise.

• I loved how chunks kept popping up in all sorts of unexpected places here. However, my personal favourite effect (by far) is the colourful plasma that used typographic halftones.
