• java: expecting insta thumbup for using your own engine is plain silly. noby and gargaj are giving you excellent criticism. you chose your own path of using your own engine, no one forced you to invest all that time in it, and you get plenty of pats on the back from it as it is where other people who use 3rd party engines do not. expecting _everyone_ to care solely that you used your own engine and not analyze other aspects of the demo is ridiculous to say the least. we can all emphatize here for a demo we spent a lot of time and effort on not getting the proper acknowledgment we were expecting. but for your own sanity i recommend you to stop caring about the fact that others demos made with 3rd party engines are getting more praises then yours and instead pay attention to the criticism of why they are getting those praises and use them in your own works in the future. we're not telling you to use another engine, we're telling you you'd have a much more kick ass demo if you paid more attention to certain technical and direction related details.
