a datafilepacker would perhaps even make it possible to _not_ use jpeg-images. that wouldn't have been too stupid, would it? - isokadded on the 2001-12-31 15:07:24

- the problem is not visualice's style, it's the enormous size of this production. the demo from dialogos was 27 megs unpacked, this one is 20.1 megs. it's just too big.
at that size, this should have been the all singing, all dancing demo, but sadly it ain't. you can't expect people to be happy when they download something so big, and find out it's almost the same as the last big demo they downloaded. to justify a size like that, you'd damn better come up with something groundbreaking. and when you don't, people will be disappointed about the content, because they have seen it before.
why can't haujobb pack their data-files better? that would have been an even better way to fight sizelimits. - isokadded on the 2001-12-31 00:39:20

- this demo totally rule :)
it should undoubtedly have won the demo competition.
not a single frameskip anywhere in the demo, great music tightly synced with the gfx. just great :)
..and that brownhaired girl from 'fucking åmål' is soooo cute ;) - rulezadded on the 2001-12-30 21:38:14

- an 11 megabyte download. not worth it at all. how the hell is that possible? bloat. anyone? at least they could have used rar, to make it a bit smaller. but no.
the intro is great, and so is the music through the whole demo.
except for the vocals. the rap-vocals are totally misplaced, and doesn't belong in this track at all. how is it possible to make such great music, and not being able to hear that?
and the lyrics for the female vocals are totally bad. "take a smoke! I feel hii-iiigh, baby". come on! except for the drug-propaganda (which also suck, since winners don't use drugs and you all know the drill), it could have been lyrics for an eurodance track.
the vocals in the soundtrack, and the _huge_ download (and filesize once unpacked) makes this a definite 'sucks'.
what about making a decent data-file packer? - sucksadded on the 2001-12-30 21:22:24

I didn't like what I saw until then, and the music has waaaaay to much bass. - sucksadded on the 2001-12-30 20:38:55

- it was a boring slideshow until it crashed. in my terms, it isn't even a demo.

- I always thought the demoscene was about good code, preferrably in tiny executables. Slagging off a 256-byte for being a 256-byte seems kinda stupid stupid to me. The impact is that this is _small_, not that it is a beautiful designed screen. This would have been cool even in psychedelic colors (luckily it ain't :).
