- Actually, I like this intro just as it is. It's supposed to look 2D and not like your bog standard raymarcher. It's just that it was sheer luck that I managed to make something nice very fast. If I had had more time, I wouldn't have turned this into a 3d raymarcher, I would have added smoother fades and some variety. I've done enough raymarchers. :) The thing I don't have is hours to spend. And an artistic vision about visuals... What you see here is top notch on my scale. The hours I do have, I want to spend on making music routines and size coding (and music and various oldskool projects) But visuals... Maybe if I quit sleeping. But it's not a big problem. If I don't get shaders from heaven, I'll just continue with this quick shit approach.

- I'm really happy with this little prod, considering I rushed the visuals and size-optimization and everything in only three hours. I had made the sound routine already in 2012 and decided it's now or never, Tokyo demoparty and all. If I had had a few hours more time, I would have size-optimized it better and added smoother fades.
If there's someone out there who can make better shaders than I do, and wants to create visuals for not-too-serious weird ass 1k compofillers, send some shaders to me to yzimusic atsign hotmail dot com. ;) Because, what I currently do is, go to glsl.heroku.com to search for something that already has some aspect of what I'm trying to achieve. Then I start modifying and mutilating it, to turn it to something different. If it becomes too crappy for my taste, I undo a few steps and try something different. Repeat that until I get bored or time runs out, then slap the stuff into the intro code, add a bit of music sync, size-optimize and remove stuff from the shader until it's small enough. - rulezadded on the 2014-03-23 14:26:36

- Funny. But uses SDL, and Windows only, why.
