- Hyde: yupps, talking about that one. I expected it to be cpu since a blitter-setup for such small spans wouldnt be worth it compared to 020. And yes, it is the lamest part. ;) And I thought it was copying precalced spans, i.e. the "Pygmy projects - Gforce"-method, only with smaller triangles/shorter spans because of the 2mb chip limitation.
Anyway, it was just used as an example here.
Oswald: I believe the kind of demo you're looking for might be something like Loonies' "Hotstyle Takeover" :)
But unfortunately, most newschool aga-demos (including my own crap ofcourse) are just chunky-based stuff with no special "amiga-specializations" that'd look a lot better if they were pulled off on a (slow) pc instead. - isokadded on the 2006-05-04 23:40:43

- Also, comparing this to Nexus7 is plain idiotic, since this demo is "the most beautiful example of 'traditional chunky-buffer sw-rendering on amiga' ever", whereas Nexus7 does most of its cool stuff (except a couple of 2x2 5bpl chunky-parts) using smart hardware- and bitplane-effects.
For instance, the gouraud in Nexus, which btw was NOT 2x2 chunky (shame on you d0DgE), was done using precalculated spans and blitter/cpu copying.
My point here is (for once) not to diss Eph, but to point out that the two mentioned demos have completely different goals;
Nexus7 was an example of creating something goodlooking and technically impressove by working *with* the amiga-hw, whereas LALE (I'll never write that bloody title) is an examle of working against the amiga-hw to achieve a beautiful vision no matter what it cost. (Eventhough we all know the result would have looked better if they did it on a PC or any other (faster) platform with a chunky-framebuffer).
So; Oswald; you're comparing bicycles and elephants, and d0DgE: you better get your facts straight...

- Only the clean visuals saves this from a thumbdown. So pretentious it hurts. Did give me some good laughs during the compo thought, but I guess that wasn't the intention...
