  No that doesn't miss the point, openmpt pretends to play a shitload of formats but can't handle a single one correctly.
  When a tool is converting from a format to another it tries to convert as much as possible, especially in that case where it's perfectly possible, so that's a bug.
  
  In this archive there's 3 modules, 2 of them are fucked up when replayed with openmpt:

  These instruments can't be modified in the samples editor.
  This should come in handy to finetune a module prior to a .ptp export.
  - Fixed a bug with TrueSpeech packed samples.
