- demo JavaScript Old School Mod Tracker by Squeepty [web]
- @hfr "tracker" music, which is a classic computer music sequencer (like ProTracker) native to the Amiga platform
This mod player was a secret room from The Big "Web" Demo.. - isokadded on the 2026-06-21 02:37:57

- @hot multimedia,
Quote:I don't know how it's possible but the playback speed of this gets faster when laptop is connected. Samples don't play any faster.
Thanks, that is a useful catch. The current replay routine uses browser-side timer ticks to advance the MOD pattern timing. That means playback tempo can be affected by laptop power management, browser energy-saving behavior, or CPU throttling, especially on battery.
So yes, I can see how plugging the laptop in could make the tune appear to speed up: the browser may stop delaying JavaScript timers, and the player then advances closer to the intended ProTracker tick rate.
This is not expected MOD behavior, it is a timing weakness in the web replay implementation. - isokadded on the 2026-06-19 04:02:04

- @hot multimedia, I kept the resolution intentionally at 320 x 200 as for me this is meant as an homage to Atari ST mod trackers.. Agreed the music is very good, and that is surely because it is from a true digital music artist, sorry that overall for you this is a poor experience and feels like AI slop...

- This is first and foremost a fun educational homage to the 80s/90s demo, intro, slideshow and cracktro scene — especially the visual language of Amiga, Atari ST and C64 productions.
