still trying to get me head around this, why can i see dx10 native effects in source, with winxp, my hardware is dx10 compliant but the OS isnt, what gives? -
because the "dx10 effects" are being implemented with dx9 hardware. There's nothing magical about dx10, except that it runs on the most suckiest platform known man. - yeah i had a run in with vista yesterday, im still recovering. So the bottomline is that dx10 is pretty much just dx9 with sales fluff added and developers who dont like it because noone uses vista?
- no no, dx10 offers a lot of cool possibilities like geometry shaders and streaming to vertex buffers but they're not really being used since it only runs on Vista.
- story is, i installed crysis on my mates vista system. we have equal systrems with his cpu being faster. But, there is no visual difference (i used the hack for xp) but i can play the game and he cant play the game because the framrate is too low
- that just proves that the visuals are not really actual dx10 level stuff in reality and that vista stinks :)
- ah. cheers, one of the fb guys did explain it to me at some point but im still all the wiser. Good think i dont program. no really.

Where are the other oxyron party results? Which was the 1st place in the 8bit demo compo and are there other PC entries? -
According to magic & fishwave, TRSI won the 8 bits compo and neoscientists the combined one with a ps2 demo -
...and the TRSI demo was supposedly a DTV demo. I am looking forward to seeing that for sure! - Fishwave is right and Magic got the ifo from Fishwave I suppose :)
