maybe because someone already predicted there would be too many and if you have layered screens you dont really have text-mode but you have "pixel"-mode looking like text using hash symbols ?

@Janes OnderGrond True this is not literally using textmode. But I never said it does. The scroller only says it's "text-based". :)
If you write your own presets in Charloom, you're using an interface that sets glyphs, colors and positions on a grid of characters, so you're essentially placing text, as opposed to e.g. controlling pixels or polygons. That's what I meant with it being "text-based". But the presets are then indeed drawn with OpenGL shaders.
