Yessss! A lovely and Cool production indeed! interesting i especially love the part when the objects break free! and into space! Wunderbar!
not sure what to make of it :)
Ok Neamhní, I am curious now, and I must ask you, what can you be credited for here?, have you made this production all by yourself? Coding,Graphics, and music?
Or is this vibecoded production? becouse it's important to me, if this demo is vibecoded, then this production dosen't really mean anything to me, becouse AI destroys the scene for REAL artist, in my opinion. So be onest and tell me the truth, please.
Slop (both the demo and that comment)
Also curious timing for the comment…

That screenshot looks like a scene out of Beamt Saber, hmm ... might be the coloring. I believe there was a Beat Saber clone for the Amiga at some point, not sure what happened to it though.
I can relate to some of the stuff you mentioned in your commi, but I'm afraid the demo as such felt unnecessary. If using AI for (assisted) demomaking, shouldn't the aim be to create something to a high standard that otherwise would be hard to achieve? Since that's what the demoscene usually strives to do. This prod does not even try to hide its sloppy character, with that logo thrown in :O
In a way it's good if people start discussing current developments and the scen in depth, on the other hand I don't see how continued half-baked attempts such as this could win over anyone on the fence, let alone those who strictly oppose AI use. And by that I don't want to criticise your coding abilities at all. If you're coding professionally then they're infinitely better than mine. But that's ok, I'm not a coder.
Get a graphics artist and a musician, do something together that has soul and thought in it. And yes that's absolutely possible with AI too, just needs an own idea in your head. AI can't come up with ideas on its own!!
And toolchain building is the right approach if you insist on incorporating AI assistance in your work. Because that will add credibility to your output. Screw the nay-sayers. There will always be people not liking something even if you did everything the way THEY expect you to do things. At the end of the day, you do what YOU feel happy with and if you can get others to like it too, then that's a great feeling. Maybe include an explanation of your creative process and workflow, so people can understand where the human part was involved, so people have a chance of appreciating your effort.
Yeah so .. more slop is not the answer, obviously. Try harder or leave it be, because people's judgment will be crushing .. trust me bro ;)

"Beat Saber ... wtf is that typo
thank goodness we have more provocative AI demos coming out, hadn't seen one of those in hours! yes, by now everyone knows AI tools can help you code demos.
now how about making a good demo instead of yet another weak-ass proof of concept?

Having a online version for a Amiga prod is a nice touch!
@Neamhní A nice nfo file explaining your intent and process will definitely help.

do I have a line-by-line understanding of the code in this demo? Not at all

I am a professional programmer
This kind of stuff is precisely what's wrong with the entire field and what keeps me from openly admitting that I'm a programmer. just wtf
That’s one of those cases where I don’t like the demo, but if the creator had made it themselves, I wouldn’t want to hurt their feelings with my criticism.
In this case, though, I think AI doesn’t read the comments and doesn’t give a shit anyway. The demo is crap.

I don’t mind AI, it’s good as tutorial to orchestrate a proper demo perhaps, next one to be proper right? ;)
As you don’t need to understand coding behind it, seems you may have more space to learn design vs. Hardware limitations as my suggestion buddy.

Interesting !
Would you accept to share the source code.
I’m really curious what the source code looks like, especially on the Amiga side.
Is it written (generated) from scratch, or is based on an existing framework or project ?

Taking your profile at face value, this appears to be your first release, right? If that’s the case, you’ve therefore chosen to pay for a service (aside: AI is a service, not a tool) to produce something for you that enables you to participate in the demoscene. That “something” could have expressed anything in the world, but you decided that it should be an artefact that deliberately sets out to “provoke” existing sceners about AI. Again. Why on earth did you want to do that, and what did you imagine the outcome would be?
Next time, in the clear absence of a single original creative idea, why not stick to slop porting some arcade game to the AGA? At least a few people would appreciate that.

AI...which is not the problem.
Released official as a Demo...which is a problem.
Again an account created freshly for delivering AI Slop...
No, Thanks.

As if it even matters that it is an Amiga prod.
110409 could have just as well requested the model to generate the prod on 20 different platforms. That would be super interesting test.... for the model, but not sure about the creative or demoscene "value"
I'm going to get to my next coup de couer from all these demos!
The one thing that's worse than all the AI slop is the influx of AI bros with their "interesting experiments" and "I'm just asking questions" attitude. It's ruining everything for everyone. Please kindly fuck off from this community.
𝑨m𝑰gaaaaaa!

It was working a couple of hours ago.
Looks like the dude didn't find the welcoming environment he/she was expecting (wild guess).
I had the chance to look at the only version and didn't look that bad, imho.
only -> online, damn. Sorry.
Damnit! I wanna see that demo. Please, re-upload it.
Well, you can always prompt one instead.

I have been writing code for decades because I like making things. Now that AI can write more, and better, code than I ever could, there is little point in me sitting down and writing out a function line by line.
How are you ever going to practice and improve and LEARN if you let something else write the code for you? This is exactly the attitude that's killing the Demoscene! And AI is killing human creativity in general society, so that our brains will eventually atrophy!

That being said, my feeling is that once people hear "AI", it usually shuts down most peoples ability to enjoy a demo regardless of how impressive it is. Perhaps things will change though.
Because here, we want to see 100% HUMAN-CREATED works of digital art! Humans are the TRULY creative source of the Demoscene, and AI is programmed by humans, but then humans are not perfect and if mistakes enter the AI algorithms and code, mistakes will end up as the output! Ever hear of GIGO? It stands for "Garbage In, Garbage Out".
No, AI should be BANNED from the Demoscene completely so that humans can indulge their passions in that environment and produce pure human content!
And what is an LLM, anyway?
And I wish I could take back my upvote for this prod, now that I know more about it.
ED: Thanks for the video link!

The demo is better than I expected. I can barely stand that monotone music, but the visuals aren't bad at all. No group and no credits.
I will give it a thumbs up (considering it’s probably a first attempt) though next time, they’ll need to put in a bit more effort.
Yes, I suppose there was a certain amount of effort and dedication involved.
People easily forget what it takes to create a demo for the first time, and they also forget that becoming a demomaker is a long process. Back in the (early 90s) Amiga days, many people started out using AMOS and had to endure being called "lamers" simply because they weren't using assembly language.
Everyone has to start somewhere.

> I really enjoyed writing code
I'm genuinely curious about this, because it doesn't have to be past tense. The scene has no managers telling you to tokenmaxx, and the notion that programming is a dying craft strikes me as a strange paradox in this context, since the output is an extremely niche artform for a long dead platform.
Isn't a pastime supposed to be about doing what you enjoy?

How are you ever going to practice and improve and LEARN if you let something else write the code for you?
For example by going through the resulting source code to study it. That's a no-brainer .. If you want to learn something it's good to start with making changes to the source code, saving it, seeing what changed, study which line does what and next time try an own written experiment. Although I am not sure if a skilled programmer would need to do this. Still, there is no right or wrong here, every human learns differently.
Everything is gone. The ADF file, the web port, the YouTube video, and even the YouTube account itself are all gone. The user profile is also somewhat blanked out. Was this just a fly-by trolling attempt?
