Even if there are minor glitches in it (the edges of the leaves stand out), the Plastic-ripoff scenes don't fit in the demo and at it is a bit slow at parts on my x600, it's still a very enjoyable demo, one of those that put a smile on your lips. I especially liked the "goth poetry" lyrics and the part in the beginning with the camera flying through the loops that come out from the water.

good model and good music.
however, some scene is slow.
and I don't liked some texture.

It was ok, tho some parts make me cringe. It's still watchable and I'm thumbing because I did like it. This kinda suffers from stretching yourself too thin.
I'm cut inbetween.

They do stuff that is nice code-wise but I didn't think the demo was very interesting, and fuckings also, so.. I'm not gonna thumb this one up just because I love you guys ;)

Preacher: glad you like it! got: Glad you liked the music and the model.

We have now built a massive code framework and can focus even more on visual design for the next productions. We are happier with the outcome of this demo than any of our previous, so we like to think we're moving in the right direction. ;)

thec/boozie/lithis/jallabert: OMG fuck you too - love y00!!1! *scene.se-kramizar*

nice work, the first scene water/clouds stuff looked lovely. and it's a big step up from the gathering, which was only a few months ago. but here's some honest criticism:

- the character model and anim was .. bad. really. and the texturing too, just looks like a perlin noise map stretched over it. as for "plastic-style" shading, it's just looking like an hdr envmap to me. some kindof ambient occlusion or lighting/shading on it too would really help.
- the tree. a) it looks very generated, more so than a lot of 64ks actually. but b) it doesnt fit in that scene at all, cos the lighting on it doesnt give any hint of the rest of the scene's lighting. maybe thats intentional, but if it had the same extreme blue/white/black shading as the rest of that scene, it would have looked a lot better imo.

- quite a lot of the textures look simple and/or generated actually. clearly there is some good code at work here, but you need a bit more power on the gfx front. thats probably why the stuff that doesnt rely on gfx much (the water at the beginning for example) works a lot better.

- music was decent, but a bit oldschool for my tastes. =)

anyway, looking forward to see what you come up with next time.

This one made me smile, as it was nice to finally see those 'extra shiny' marble statues moving. ! Very impressive improvement over the last demo !.

Scene.org don't seem to be interested in updates. There were texture problems in the compo version linked at Pouët. The leaves are much, much too dark.

If you want to watch it,please download this version: Imaginations by Dope!

Smash: Thanks for the feedback.

The tree is definitely generated. I'm convinced that a properly generated tree looks much more organic (=better) than a tree "designed" by a human. The tree in Imaginations is generated with DLA wich is pretty good looking and cool, I think.

I'm not sure about your comment about the tree: "... lighting on it doesnt give any hint of the rest of the scene's lighting". Is it refering to the shading of the wood or the leaves? The leaves are wrong in the compo version (too dark and too brownish). I posted a link to a better version above. In my oppinion the leaves should have been even brighter but group democracy wanted something else.

Not all bad, but inexcusably ugly in places (ie. the sky texture) and: enough of these shiny plastic people already..
Way better than your TG demo, though.

A D3DERR_INVALIDCALL on DrawIndexedPrimitiveUP should fail silently or quit the demo, not generate 1000 error boxes. Getting out of this demo alive was rather tricky.

Definitely a move in the right direction!

Nice feeling and atmospeher, and I liked the music. The water fx is big thumb up!

But I don't like the colors, at all. Well... the water, water things and the sky match. So does the tree and the island. But not all together.
The jerky animation is... to jerky! :-)
Actually, it ruins the demo and gives a bad overall impression.

Otherwise it's nice technically so it almost get thumb up. But next time?
