Naw, didn't like this at all. Just looked messy with uninteresting music. The only semi-interesting bit was how they flashed several still frames of some abstract object yet spun the background around nice and smoothly.

I thought it was a perfect combination of taste and tackyness! And I mean it as a compliment :)

That still 3d fractal with smoothly moving background is a really nifty idea, and some scenes really kicked ass.

The design space seemed to have been a bit limited to mostly camera movements, yet even limitations breed creativity, I crave more dynamic objects.

starts off a bit empty, one would think the beginning referred to a better object than a fucking spikeball, and some of the sync is obviously directed at other parts of the music than my ear can detect as forthstanding, but other than that...

a bit victim of the norwegian pc demo syndrome, but rather cool still. I'd calm down the cameras a little bit maybe ;) Its hard to see whats going on yet it is till too defined to become something like the predator demo by mfx(just colour wash with slightly discernable elements). It has to be said that I watched it on a card which probably wasn't fast enough to show it the way it was meant to I think. Rulz anyway!

boring like hell, and lots of artifacts, the synchs were fine

I disagree that the opening was boring, I actually really liked it (except for the tunnel flyby). The rest is cool too although the music at the end could use some more variation.

hm, unsure on this one. it looked great and was cool, but felt so extremly meaningless, and the demo was so unorginal..

Won't run. "This application has fiailed to start because d3dx9_24.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." Most other 3D games/demos work on this machine.

NVidia 6600GT, P4 3.2, 1gb ram, 875P chipset.

If you get that error message that d3dx9_24.dll is not found, I recommend downloading that missing file.

sync, bass AND hypnoglow - HOW CAN IT FAIL?!
rulez added on the 2005-08-16 19:07:58 by gloom gloom
It manages to somehow only just scrape past two of my pet hates when it comes to demos.. but somehow it comes off a winner.

and all too often we see the "epileptic demo". You know what i mean. This time around - Sure, the intro is hard and fast paced.. But theres something about this one (well rounded effects and changing angles?) that keep it continuous enough.

The second, equally hated category is "spinny thing in the middle" demos; despite a small snippet of that, i think it was avoided.

The soundtrack isn't super-memorable in terms of innovation, but it fits the stlye well and again is integrated wonderfully.

I almost.. for a second, about 2/3rds in.. thought that it was going to be "that bit too long". But, like the whole demo, its varied and a nice range of effects especially black/white contrast (and the few seconds of crash cymbol/nothingness is bliss).. push it through - good job.

Not only does this demo have hypnoglow - it has hypno cam-movement! The scenes weren't that ugly, so no need for the erratic cutting. Nice design, schweet music. "last_engine_ever"? - aww... :(

i like the crystal effect on the objects. reminds me alot of the variform / kewlers demo. is that prebaked in the object or is it just face normals envmap stuffs? i do not like the music though.. it belongs in a nightclub that only plays hardcore or something.
