videos loading on flash makes it hang for a while, which sucks but seems inevitable... it works fine and dandy once all the videos are loaded into memory.. and its a pretty nice interface and content. so thumbs up to kooi from me! :)

hmm noise disk imho
anyway, not a thumb down thanks to the hard work
love it or hate it, but this is the most unusual 'musicdisk' ever... 'tracks' 3 and 8 are my favs! 8)

Interesting one.. nice noisy style, fitting interface. Didn't really like the 'songs' too much on this one though - the last one (on the web site) was better from that side. Still, definite thumb up.

One thing would have really ruled bigtime though - if it was possible to press the various buttons in the right order to 'power up' the interface, for a bonus track. Or is that in there?

psonice, I thought so too and tried interacting with the interface, but, alas, nothing happened.

you did realize it's possible to turn on videos on the other 2 displays on the right, right?
added on the 2006-10-03 18:53:13 by psenough psenough
yes, I got that. I even kinda synced sounds from videos on different displays, for example track 8 sounds cool with top right screen enabled... 8)

thanks for the comments and feedback, now let me do some explanations...

rKorPlayer was never intended to be musicdisk, but it surelly lacks a category to fit into, so maybe this can be closest guess...

rKorPlayer is an audio/video machine/toy. in addition to video playback buttons, there are numerous buttons for manipulation available all over the interface, including fw/rew playback and stutter fx. with it's many sounds, and with sounds produced by video clips, rKorPlayer is not only a music or video disc, but rather a machine to play with and possibly create (noise) music.

since none of video segments is to be considered final, it's primary use is not to display videos, but to allow user to use those segments in creating something of his own. but most of all, it is meant to be enjoyed, especially if you are into kooi style ;)

and smaller screens also has multiple videos, you just need to press buttons more times...

this prod ownz.

anyway, PPL should stop saying what is art and what is not in here.
Everithing is art, if it makes someone FEEL something. Even if it's only the author.

TS: all "raving tomatoes" thing are crap. but i'm not gonna say that's not art, as those made me angry. and i'm also not gonna waste a bit on my harddrives to store them. And no, you did not make anything better than this and I think you never will. (IMO)

uhm.. looks nice, but confusing. i'm too impatient for trying out that kind of stuff, but i appreciate the effort put into this. music is also not my cup of tea.
piggy.

good production. has some some new(!) ideas - not that you'd expect scene-awards-people to realize that though :)

very innovative! i like the format of the interative player as a framework. this way all aspects of audio/video can get connected in a coherent format which every body knows!
and yeah, it's even strong beyond the concept!
(.....)
highly underrated prod!

highly "under thumbed" prod... :)

The size is sick, so is "music". But I love the interactivity of it and ability to make random noise.

Interesting... it works like a charm under Win7 x64 - back in 2006 it just seemed to work, but only showing like 1% of the functionality in a very buggy way on 2 systems tested.
