Nice collection of colorful 2D effects and FSOL-style soundtrack from Dune. From what I remember, it ran full speed on a 486/33, because it used weird tweaked VGA modes like 320x120.

quirky, darker, shortish - not a crowdpleaser like x14 (released a month before), but a demo with a definite personality and one of my orange favorites.
this one was actually the first demo i've ever seen. (if we don't count state of the art, but i didn't know what it was when i first saw it)
unfortunately i've seen this working only once, the music doesn't work on my pc.

I think orange apologized for the shortness of the demo by promising us a better television next year. Boy, were they right =)
This one was okay too, couldn't see the need for any apologies.

this one used to blow my mind. absolutely outstanding music from the god himself, dune. wicked effects at full framerate on my 486. get crazy when the beat come back and you fly algonside hundreds of triangles... r e s p e c t
its a shame they ran out of time and had to recycle that one bit.
very smooth, however, don't stretch yourself.
fsol stylee? fsol percussive samples (lifeforms)

good music, will be better on a 1995 Amiga :)

Same style as x14 and project xyz. Again has some beautiful 2d effects.

Very nice demo and a kickass soundtrack!
great style, great soundtrack
die sommer smok bestimmungen
I was a sucker for the music and the triangle tunel part!
Very kuhl - but I like some of the other orange stuff much better, like STV, Project XYZ, X14, Megablast and High Speed Dubbing (Mr. Black)!
nice relaxing music

missing thumb is missing.

yay :) nice screens in here!
It's strange... With my SB 32 I hear only a random noise without any music/ Why? Maybe I need a GUS? (yes, yes! :)
Although all of it, demo is nice, tunnels are cool, but music sucked on my card :-D

A nice chilled out vibe, nice flowing demo, ace.

Cool
Really good music (needs a good sound system) and nice effects, but, imo, not as good as previous Orange productions. For me it is OK. Slightly better then OK, but not more.
Almost 30 years later and I'm still trying to figure out what that German- (?) language sample is saying. Lovely music, lovely vibes. Although the music playback is notoriously unreliable and drum loops would often go out of sync
good old dos demo with soo nice music :)
Okay the soundtrack is VERY Earthbound, imagine getting asked for your name and you input Der Piipo. Okay for starters I think this is the only prod that can actually justify using fakemode not even for the extra colors, just for the bars look, which is very TELEVISION. The first tunnel is insanely cool, the second tunnel was pretty much what Solstice did but less cool, for starters the black bars. Yeah I'm starting to get annoyed by all these Orange prods having black bars on the top and bottom, I want my full screen, not this windowboxed nonsense. Overall, still a really good demo! Der Piipo did fantastic on those drawings of old men, it might not even be no-copy like last time! Dune's music is great, Zeb's picture is alright, a very mediocre sendoff, and I have no idea what Barti is doing here, or even what he did. It's kinda sad that this demo is unfinished as Orange had to shove a bunch of it into X14 as there was a five alarm fire called Halcyon made a somewhat decent looking demo, which was absolutely unacceptable according to Hoplite!
I guess compared to Solstice the music is really weird, and I do like that a lot, trackers are a lot less limited than these DAWheads would like you to think!! So it's nice to see experimental like that. Solstice would have definitely been improved with some nice plasma, it's tight enough that I don't know where you'd fit it, maybe as a bump map for the bump rock? Although one thing I realize now is the Fakemode at the end just sucks looking at a video capture that smooths it together, it screams "Oh look we have infinite colors, time to do something boring" instead of getting demoeffects that should not be possible yet. X14 managed to keep it in order, and the beginning of this demo did so too, but man that effect just doesn't do it to me, I don't care if Valhalla was 5 months late, but they really do know how to make good use of a fakemode!
