It's not running here, but from the big screen I remember it as a quite nice, original demo.

Hopper raped my music. ;-)) (they really need a designer).

And no, those sound-fx are not part of the tune. Also please note, that the music was made in a very short time. Maybe I do a polished/ final version.

Btw, I have missed the demo, because I fell asleep shortly after the 25th demo and woke up some demos after this one was played. Bad luck. ;)

I sure liked the "death experience" idea - well done. But the "anniversery"stuff spoiled it a bit. Would have been nicer to see that in a seperate demo...Good overall tho'. I liked it.

a music without lustre nor substance-- tacky (nerdy?) design and models.

a story-demo!
yes!
and technically well done!
the meshes and textures look a bit sucky sometimes.. okay.. :(
but this saves the render-time to show some NEW effects and VERY weird 3d-worlds.. :)
i love it!

Great code spoiled by really ugly modelling. Pity, it COULD have rocked.

Pretty cool concept behind this production. The textures seem a bit artifacty, and the main character doesn't have much animation, but still... Definitely worth a downlaod.

And I'm starting to like these recent 'fur' effects too.

Hum, I can't really say why, but I liked "Kötterdämmerung" more than this one (most probably because of the music...), though this is of course a kind of extraordinary demo (even more than Kötterdämmerung) and deserves a thumbs up for its fresh ideas and the cool story... although I don't entirely get it, but so what. ;)
Btw, I'd really like to know what meaning that fat dude has! Who is he?? If he is someone at all that is... :)

Lemme explain it to ya:

The fat dude is another one of those weird SquoQuo stories. In our city lives a man which has rather the same body. Average sized
all over except that "ball"-belly ;) And therefore we (internally) named him "Kanonen-Kugel-Bauch-Opa" which means something like he
wears a cannonball under his shirt.
And that somehow (following rather screwed SquoQuo rules) lead to "Kugel-Bauch-Kanona-Üpeh" which is a swabian-SquoQuo-mix version.
Because we've got that OpenGL engine we decided to change it to "qGL-Bauch-Kanona-Üpeh" (if you spell it german it sounds the same).
Originally i planned to do a TVshow demo with an interview with him followed by some sequences. But it was way to much work to do
so we cancelled the idea and followed that death-concept.

The concept of the demo is the following:
- Should be a reminescence to good old times (because SquoQuo got 10 years old)
- Should include some Smash Designs joke because of their really bad "Night shift" demo (sorry guys)
So we combined the Night Shift-Porsche scenes with Fulcrum and Big Lebowski. That was the intro.
The whole demo should be really scary and strange, so it was rather obvious to do the main part as some kind of coma/near death
experience with the above dude as main actor.
Then he gets into that "white tunnel" which leads to "heaven", namely our very personal 10 years reminescence. Being dragged to live
again, the outtro shows him driving away inside the ambulance.
That's all there is to explain...
good: some of the models (the dog, the woman), *very* nice effects and scenes!, great transitions, original idea, music fitted quite well
bad: most of the textures, the first/anniversary/last part. damn, especially the anniversary sucked, you could've made an own intro for that or so, but it just kills the whole experience in this otherwise great demo :/ also, my pc made a reset when the demo was finished. all that keeps me from giving a "rulez" here.

Hopper: Thanks for your explanation! Now I get it a bit more, hehe...
Btw, I'm from Germany, too, so... big LOL @ "Kanonen-Kugel-Bauch-Opa" & "qGL-Bauch-Kanona-Üpeh" ! ;o)
I thought the demo was OK.. but now with all the details added, I must say it rules ;)

Good tribute to one of the best non top3 SDS demos.

Ok, time has gone, 2.5 years...
While watching some memories came back, I've seen it at the bigscreen but due to the time it was shown I fell asleep several moments (it was not your fault).
Ugly models, but the 10years aniversary are a thumb worth.
Btw, somehow I think that the car-scene reminds me at some really old demo/animation (no, not nightshift) but I don't know which. Any suggestions?
