There's a shitton of work to do for a final, starting with overhauling the soundtrack with better samples etc. Although it runs on the 500 I'd strongly recommend watching this version on an A1200.
For a little more information check the readme file in the archive.

+ copper chunky lights from the intro part
+ the logo effect
+ great gfx, especially the amazing city picture
+ greetings part
- lack of usual Dodge's sophisticated vocabulary
- where the f*** is Novel?! Music is not bad, but could be better and it is Novel who should make it (I dunno, bribe him, blackmail him, but get him back!)
- the square part that looks a bit like a grandma's blanket drenched in Pfeffi

So this is a party version? Already good enough. While waiting for the final, take my thumb up.

OHAI
Since the glitching of the Sierpinski zoomer bugged the hell out of me and I realised that I had taken the after-party Tuesday off from work -- of course AFTER showing up at work at 8 a.m. -- I decided to use the afternoon at least fixing the modulo glitch.
The zoomer is now more centered vertically and violent stuttering of lower portion has been stopped and looks rather decent now on the old lady. The speed issue will be a thing for the final.
Lo and behold, the DL link now points to the "86%" version ;)

@Jazzcat
I tried. Well, not the bribery (should've went that road) but the rest *evilgrin*. Novel was moving to Berlin for a new employment on the tail end of 2016 and was busy settling in. OTOH the reference tune and atmosphere I wanted to convey didn't resonate with him -- he's more the sunshine guy.

Downloading again... :]

Love the font and the way it draws on this production. Also fake scanlines could have been used through the whole demo not just one part.
Liked the throbbing logo too, maybe stick it in the top corner as the demo goes on, maybe next time?
Good job though, a nice chilled demo.

sorry, not my cup of tea :\
Cool modern OCS demo, great atmosphere, nice graphics and ossom opening sequence.

I like the idea of this kind of 2017 - 1980s style. It seems to be in vogue at the moment. The main font kind of works in this setting. Good to see something else than Arial or Impact.

Generally I appreciate the work put into copper rainbows all over the place. Do you guys have an editor or something? :)

The sierpinsky zoomer will be great I think after some glitches gets cleaned up. Also the twister looks nice. Plane wormhole with particles is also cool but feels a bit small and static (no clipping?).

In general I would like more fullscreen motion and higher pace (yes this is coming from the guy whose previous demo had effects stay statically on screen for 10 patterns at a time or so).

Maybe animating the copper rainbows or pulsing the palette a bit or something?

@loady

Glitches in the Sierpinski Zoomer have been tackled. The modulo mirroring was a bit tacky due to speed issues which will be hopefully addressed for the final.
See current DL version, looks better now.

As for the final, there's a long ToDo list that goes like this:

- overhaul soundtrack w/ better samples (found some already, need to convert to 8bit, though)
- implement at least another full picture by Dandee (man worked like a horse at the party, massive kudos)
- another whole effect scene (got an idea already)
- _massively_ tweak colours in rotating vectors
- another whole pattern in the greetings, play w/ twister texture
- generally look for better transitions, colours and take sync opportunities

good vibes in an atmospheric cyberpunk visuals on 90 style like Gibson. Rocks but too short.

A bit rough around the edges as it is, but still entertaining. Looking forward to watching a few more times again if a final gets a release.

All right, we got the final version out in Hell, TRSAC that is.

New DL link already has been submitted to the Glöperators, but Imma give this bugger a bump by posting it in here, too.
The archive includes an ADF and a DMS image as well as the file version and the traditional bonus folder with goodies from the development process.
Have fun.

Watched the final, finally ;) ... some nice effects, greets were cool, good gfx throughout, music was ok, but different music could have really lifted the whole demo. Keep em coming boys, I always enjoy your work. peace.

Nice one! Slow pace fitted the music which in turn fitted the contents, so worked for me. Not a fan of the zoomer, though.

nice
This demo excels in atmosphere. The mood owes mostly to the simple, but effective soundtrack and the coherently fitting imagery. There are flaws in the code which are sometimes oddly supportive of the overall impression.
