thanks for testing on a real zx! by "hangs" do you mean the music continues to play, or does that hang as well? i assume former is probably a race condition related to the timer (which is admittedly done in a pretty hacky manner), while latter would need more investigation. unfortunately i don't have access to real hardware at the current moment, nor i can reproduce it in any emulator i tried.
Ive checked again. This time from a clean boot, and I get some memory corruption during the plasma part (I see the graphics of the next part through it), but the demo continues this time. I am not able to reproduce said hang at this point.
So my thumb may be a bit harsh, in retrospekt. If there is a way I can contact you, Id gladly provide additional information/recording that may give you more insight in whats happening possibly.
