props for delivering that one as well, and almost not sleeping at all for the entire party weekend.

very impressive css animation, very curious about details if you recover from the crunch and are willing to write an article about it.
also love the style, awesome work : )

this is wrong for so many reasons. actually pulling this off is no one of them. massive kudos!

Why would you do this to yourself?

unable to view it properly @home. Any hints on the browser/os needed for that ?

Windows/Chrome should run it (or Edge, which is Chrome)
added on the 2024-04-04 13:20:47 by wayfinder wayfinder
Yes currently this prod is chromium only (regardless of operating system, it was developed under linux), it also still needs the "--allow-file-access-from-files" flag but you can expect the final version in the coming days which will be a self contained HTML file. Firefox will probably be compatible in the near future as well.

hmmm, microsoft surface 8 is not ok with it, neither my phone ;) No problem for a true powerfull computer. thx. congrats again

Shouldn't need a powerful computer, runs fine on my integrated graphics, I'm also doing a bit more performance optimizations, so please check back for the final in a couple days. Cheers!

Very nice on an art level, and on a tech level a stunning display of both LJ's skills and just how turing-complete CSS is. Who needs JS anyway?

Amazing what lack of sleep can do!

What a beautifully bonkers, brilliant and brilliantly bootless technical feat this is. Congratulations.

Also, the mood and the music already make me hyped for Evoke already. Are we there yet?

The lack of sleep indeed paid off!
Incredible technical achievement, I showed it to a bunch of non-scener friends haha
I'd also love to have details/tool screenshots if you could make a writeup about it :)

Gives such a happy feeling but when watching it I can feel the pain behind in every polygon. We truly are our own worst enemies.

Wayfinder's track is perfect for this demo.

Clear thumb up for the sheer insanity of the effort, and it's a nice little demo too.

However, it completely falls apart on my MacBook Pro M2, under Chrome. It's just a flickering mess, like double buffering was missing, and all redraws are clearly visible. In 1-2 parts it recovers, but then just falls apart again. It indeed works however on my big Linux rig, with Radeon RX570 graphics and Chromium as included in Debian Bookworm.

Firefox 115 ESR (Linux) and 126 beta (Mac) just gives a black screen under both. I guess that's expected. :)
