2 bytes squeezed since the last time. There's a lovely padding to reach the milestone size of 32 bytes.

Maybe it would be a good idea to host a Hugi Size Coding Competition about the fire-effect? Let's see how much the size can still be reduced.

The current Hugi Compo is ending today, so it would be time to discuss the next task!

BTW, more info: http://www.hugi.scene.org/compo/

muhaha, cool that the .NFO fire looks better than the executable :)
RA5MUS: ^__^ that's funny indeed.

I think it's not fire, but some ugly video garbage that hangs up my XP.

just fittng anything into 32 bytes and then calling it "fire" doesn't make it look so.

it looks like a fire effect.. but fire effects look more like porridge rotting in fast motion on the moon..

Cool for 32.

"fireish", but running for optimization you shouldn't forget the visual aspect :)

I recognize I made many tradeoff to fit in the extreme size of 32bytes. It doesn't look like our good old fires, but considering the size it's not that far from them.

173 byte fire at http://www.humbug.net/projects/download/demos/js-fire7.zip. It looks good and you can exit from it, and it's small!

Nice to see Ribbon back, though I'd prefer to see bigger releases :)

great fire in 32 byte!
rulez added on the 2004-10-02 01:21:27 by las las
It doesn´t really resemble fire, but for a 32b effect it still looks fine.

Yes, in another dimension I've already thumbed this. ok.

It tries to be fire and I think it succeeds, even if the colour is weird.

Thanks for the feedback.

Question: I wrote a better version which takes the full screen and is 99% glitches free. Should I submit it as a stand alone prod or "silently" update the ZIP file of this one ?
added on the 2007-01-27 14:25:33 by p01 p01
I'll keep it 2004 and post it as a new prod p01 :) (if I did a new version of it 2 years later)
rulez added on the 2007-02-13 10:03:26 by wie8 wie8
