This one is pretty cool, I liked the geometrics really much. I'd like to see a windows port. :)

wow, they didn't exagerate in the README file about the precalc time... :-)

It was rather good, though I didn't expect it to be among the winners. I'd have liked to see more of the origami stuff, as that was clearly the best part of the intro. Some design choices looked too much like coder design (as you can see in the screenshot).

Nice idea and a nice realization

can't run on my linux... I don't have 3d acc though, but don't you think it should be possible to run it through the mesa libs? :)

oooh, this was Linux? Killer (: Must try to run under knoppix (: But yeah, the idea - well as B00zie said during the compo: hey! I've wanted to do that and someone finally did! (which was what I was thinking too.) Origami rules. And yeah more demos/intros like this would be killer, and fuckings to anyone who thinks it wouldn't.
liked it

Lithis, are you following us?

But on another notes. I fixed some bugs, and it runs on LinuxPPC (or any big-endian system) now. I also added a loader screen for precalc time and a GTK2 splash screen where you can select resolution for the intro and the fractals.

Windows and OSX versions coming up when vv and TheFlash get their act together. They did splash screens for Windows API and Carbon respectively.

Ok, here's the update. The intro has now been ported and fixed. It can be found at:
http://remora.dyndns.org/fhi/data/origami_dev.tar.bz2
Or if you can do fine without the sources:
http://remora.dyndns.org/fhi/data/origami.tar.bz2

The current ports include amd64 (Linux), ia32 (FreeBSD, Linux, Windows), ppc32 (Linux, OS/X) and ppc64 (Linux, OS/X). If you can compile it somewhere else, please do send us a binary!

The osX version is linking to /sw/lib/libSDL-1.2.0.dylib, which is of course a problem if it's not there (: However props for the launcher and launcher source.
shouldnt have and should have placed so high at the same time. very nice.

Nice! :) Very cool! I usually hate the modern stuff and prefer old-
school, but I loved this one! Great job! :D Linux too! :)))

Surprisingly sophisticated coderart, maybe even one of my favorite 4ks from this era. Primitive beauty.
