The humor of this release might be farfetched, but so is the entire PHP demoscene!

Enjoy! And let the PHP Demoscene battle continue!

I don't know anything about PHP coding, but thumbs up for the name the very least.

a demo effect using meta refresh is not a brilliant idea but thumb up for the effect and I like this kind of interesting stuff.

deja vu

Nothing changed at all except the text and the refresh delay.

Where is this PHP Demoscene battle of which you speak ?

skate: the idea with php demos has always been using php only and not relying on any other rendering technology like javascript.

p01: php demoscene humor is like this.

The PHP demoscene was founded more or less at deadline (2003) and second deadline party (deadline reloaded same year) had dedicated php democompo.

Cnackers, Myself, Jumalauta, Even and others that frequented these parties had some fun discussions about this.

Also check out the video at ftp://ftp.pseudohacker.org/pub/demoscene/parties/2003/deadline/video/ILM_deadline_20030315_-_phaadi.mpg (in Swedish though) where Phaadi is drunk and challenges FLT in making a PHP demo (neither has yet to do a PHP demo).

In short - it is a very local scene, which few people understand and everyone complains all the time about the lack of Ajax. (Much like the "software rendered" vs. "GPU rendered" bitching on the PC scene many years ago.

psychad: alright.

Well, it'll be a thumb down for me since there's nothing new compared to the original 256b.

There's also a delightful rant about 4-day turds in there ;D. So lovely ;).

@Psychad: I'm using web technologies in my professional life for 10+ years now, starting from the era before the first PHP version released. I've some 256b Javascript codes as well. So, I know what a PHP demo means, I know its limitations but I find it kind of pointless. Still I supported this entry just because I haven't followed PHP scene before (so it was orijinal for me, even if it is not that original to the others who knows the PHP scene history better).

I saw this before and didn't think too much of it.. but missed that it's 256b. Thumb up then.

psonice: you mean you saw the exact same prod that was released 3 months ago ?

IMO this very prod is a pointless re-release only featuring a shorter text and delay.

poi: I saw both I think.. yeah, pretty pointless to release it as a separate thing. Hmm.. tough one.. i would thumb the original down for being too slow, but really this is lame as a re-release and deserves a thumb down for that. But still one or the other deserves a thumb :)

New text and zero refresh delay? Woah, man, why didn't I think of that?
But seriously, instead of re-releasing other people's prods "for the lulz" and without permission, you could try and make something completely new. :)
