Beautifully crafted, great 3D most french groups kick some ass on 3D stuff, smooth. Pretty music. A definite must-see.

Go See this demo! It's a pleasure for the eye and for the ears

This demo is a real trip in virtual world. Just one camera, just an impression to fly thru wonderful 3D scenes. Don't miss it !

Bah. Just a 3d fly through (though it's wasn't bad for it's time, and the objects were nice)... When was this made?

This demo is an amazement
for the eyes. It gives me the desiren to made a demo.

i hate such 3d demos without style, design, good textures, impressive objects, a nice idea or good music. this one has nothing of those. disgusting :\

Very nice demo, old but sweet. Be sure to get this into your collection, besides, this is bomb crafted!
i just don't get this. as far as i can see it's a boring fly round some mostly uninteresting 3d scenes. The music is nothing special, and most of the scene ideas are identical to those in the first explora. bleh!
added on the 2001-01-24 03:10:14 by spacecake spacecake
Funny 3d worlds! (Well,. a little blockier textures though than other 3d demos as I remember!)

Isn't that the demo which was 11MB big as I remember?
I must have seen Explora 1 too. I shall download them both just to remember them.. (They wake up some memories on me ;)

Ohh,. and I think that in this demo I had seen the Spaceship which is used later in State of Mind demo!

another classic but not the best of Bomb. a true MSDOS demo, a good bbs-tro in bonus in the zip, demo is just a scene replayer, scenes is like videogames but i like it and transitions are very good, not boring at all, a good demo, a must see
As I read you, you seem to always have a reason to open your mouth and say bullshit.
The demo is not "only" a scene replayer, think at the time it was out! 1997. No "scene replayer" really existed back then I think... All in this demo is particular case. And what about Skal's metaballs?
rulez added on the 2001-08-14 18:05:35 by vegeta vegeta
And what about Caero, Machines of Mandness and all the other 3d "scene replayer" demos which came out earlier and with MORE life in the scenes? :)
added on the 2001-08-14 18:12:40 by kb_ kb_
Or Claudia, Alto Knallo, etc.

Anyway, I kinda liked this demo when it first came out, since it was able to display a scene that had a ludicrous amount of triangles. Looking back it seems quite dated, but a demo containing Bomberman can't be all bad!

You tell 'em sagacity =)

Brilliant when it came out, looks a little silly now -but see if I care. Recommended.
rulez added on the 2001-10-16 16:48:39 by Shifter Shifter
What made this demo different from Caero/MoM/etc was it was a "flythrough"; (almost) everything was put in a single scene. The others only had to load a bit at a time. Dimension by Gods tried something similar in 1998. Splendid by Excused beat Eden to the 3D Bomberman appearance. :)

Like shifter, thumbs up for the time, now it almost seems old-fashioned.

Great 3D engine, with good 3D scenes, but I think that's all. Never really liked 3D player demos...

added on the 2004-12-02 23:16:17 by Preacher Preacher
that demo rulez of course, all the demo is made of one SINGLE big 3d scene perfectly displayed with good framerate, great corrected mapping (look carefully when the camera fly near the pyramid), etc...
also that demo was finished in a hurry at party place after a really loooooooooong travel :)

A great demo - one that I didn't watch as much as the two previous demos, maybe because I found the others a little more interesting.

I have to say 2 things:

1) the demo was never finished and it will be an eternal regret as it should have featured many particle effects (some of them with physics), glow, reflections, refraction, etc. which we never could include for an obvious reason : laziness

2) For those complaining about the monotony of the 3D trip, I'd say okay but you fail to grasp the vastness of the 3D world, for the time it was released. It's a single continuous flight accross a world featuring many 256 colors palettes and finely-tuned transitions. That was hell of a challenge to put up together, believe me! Anyway, you're the audience, you decide (and I'm a coder, so I'm quite used at people who don't care of what I have to say =).
rulez added on the 2006-08-21 20:31:17 by Patapom Patapom
Granted, it's mostly a 3d player, but the scenes are really high quality (much better than what you could see in most demos back then) and the musics are good too.
rulez added on the 2006-08-22 13:19:34 by exocet exocet
First scene and greets are the best parts. The rest is rather boring...

cool gfx and 3d scenes, but very inconsistent and some scenes were like wtf?? (the bomberman in that space pyramid for example)

Why was it disqualified at The Party 1997? What was the reason for it. I was at TP7 and do not recall seeing this demo on the big screen.

haven't seen this before now. it's really good if a little long. of course, it's impressive that's it's so long - that massive world and those well orchestrated model cuts/swaps.

now this was just good. some scenes have a real "wow" effect. excellent score. how did they play that anyway? was mp3 invented back then? sure don't think they made a synthesizer for a children's choir.

Inspired and awesome work, a nice trip overall. The flyby is a little bit boring though.

I didn't know this demo, it seems to have been a source of inspiration for some french demos I love (ojuice's past, popsy's m-evo)

Probably the epitome of the 1990s "look-we-can-display-textured-3d-scenes-in-realtime-now" craze. :)

Plenty of wacko things in this one. The flying toilet in space, references to people no one can remember (the guy in front of the hut?), the wildly flickering texture maps and the prominent display of the group URL that most likely stopped working a decade ago. Delightfully antiquated stuff, but still fun to watch today.

12mb of nice and FAST 3d flyby with neat music and great objects. cheezy bomberman ^^

One of my favorites from the late 90s. Great music and nice surrealistic bunch of 3d 'scenes'. And those one-sided polygons on bomberman wings. Definitely rulez! :D

I know it's a little late to answer, but this character can't be forgotten. For it is the great, the magnificent, the unavoidable PATAPOM...

this was a Zappy super-dupper optimisation process, demo spirit, maybe too big for it's era (realtime decrunch not possible?)
anyway, that was impressive
