Considered holding my thumb until the final arrived for my 512+512 machine, but I can't keep up my grumpy act against stuff like this. Good work! :)

It's a barely working party version. Only the beta states were tested on the 500 at home. Then everything went haywire 1 hour before the compo ... as it usually does. A final will be released but we'll take our time for that.

Thanks for reminding me why I stopped party coding some years ago. :D Good demo, enjoyed it! :)

Nice demo! Looking forward for that final version.

Favourite of the compo. Design really is genuine workmanship and getting better year after year. Noticed platonic solids there :) Cheers!

Good demo with a very nice athmosphere and consistent design. Loved your copper colours, esp. the animated ones.

Very nice for A500/OCS!

Some of the graphics could have benefitted from some more manual labour but except for that I think this was a very nice demo with ace design and atmosphere, somewhat original but in a very good way.

Quality stylish stuff and very MOODy music ;o)

Very pure.
Conveys a story as I like!

Very nice design! Some good effect ideas as well, but it lacks progression. There's no real climax, and the demo... suddenly ends, just so.

Still, solid thumb up!

Atmospheric and modern A500 stuff, very cool graphics + nice tune. Good work! And I'm glad that you've shown it in Amiga Demo Compo (you have balls :).

simple but very nice, and well executed concept. Should have placed higher

nice production Moods Plateau !

keep on going!
rulez added on the 2015-04-12 23:44:58 by magic magic
Apart from the very first scene the 2D graphics are damn awesome, especially the one in the screenshot and the wind one. There's not a lot of people who can draw wind!
Tune is so damn clear and good (übelste Klangholzaction!), the sync is splendid, palette is awesome (doge style <3) and the moody moire just lifts it even further.

Really think this is your best so far!
rulez added on the 2015-04-12 23:56:24 by mog mog
Malmix: you're absolutely right; let's see if I can get xeN to "manhandle" his pictures after conversion and take a look at the elemental icons at the beginning.

Slayer: so do you :) ... and as you guys we didn't have any other choice left, since this party version overdraws some 20 - 30kB on the chipMem account

Kylearan: I know what you mean, and it still bothers me as well; hoping to get this a bit more "dramatised" in the final

Thanks a lot for the comments and constructive critique.

Moody Copper Demo
rulez added on the 2015-04-30 21:26:26 by Frequent Frequent
Every demo these guys do is better than their last one! The scene with space rocks and floating balls is absolutely gorgeous. And then we have these beautiful ignis, aqua, terra, aura logos… But my absolute favourite effect is probably the one right after it - I mean the red 3d "pistons" (sorry, I suck in naming the effects). Nitpicking? A few scenes (pistons, flatshade) would benefit from reducing the number of colours, but that’s probably just a question of taste, as our coders always say that we love “monochrome” palettes too much :-)

I would also offer my compliments to Novel for making something totally different from what he usually does. Awesome, moody 80s influenced electronica that plays in your head long after you’re turned it off. But the repeating arpeggio simply cries for a higher Hz rate! :-) Dodge, be nice and give Novel extra 20kb for that, will you!

Overall a nice alchemic journey. Hermes Trismegistos approves.

If only I could :)
The soundtrack already allocates about 250kB of chip memory, afer I've granted Novel another 30kB ... which brought me a pack of trouble (see ADA thread).

Some good ideas and lovely soundtrack! But please don't use Floyd-Steinbord anymore for gfx conversation - it looks ugly...

Working on the final. I might overhaul the dithering of the major pictures since Xenusion already said that he doesn't have spare time to do so.

It took a long while but we managed to sweat out a final version which is now available under the regular download link.
The archive contains the crunched executable (won't run on A500 + 512k b/c of memory overusage), an ADF and DMS disk image for your A500 pleasure.
Traditionally we threw in a bonus directory with goodies from the development process, such as the graphic drafts by Xenusion and the PT module of this here final version.

enjoy

Hey Dodge et al. Congrats on the final! Btw. you could get a crunched file working on 512+512k if you ditched StoneCracker in favour of Titanics-Cruncher, or possibly also Cru. Just tested it with Titanics and it works fine. Also:
Code: move.b #%11111001,$bfd100 ;Laufwerke move.b #%10000001,$bfd100 ;aus move.b #%01111001,$bfd100
