Nice demo for such a party, good sound. In general nothing really special and it runs a bit to long, but even FR are making not so serious productions some time ;)

A bit long, but nice. And good music.
I especially like the scene from the screenshot and the music in that scene.

way too long, and to few effects
1. don't drink and drive ähhh code...
2. SYSTEM F = SYSTEM Farbrausch?
3. MUUUUUUUUUUUCH better than fr-14 ; )

hmm not that great. looks like a collection of old effects they had lying around. but i still love you guyz. and the music is more or less an exact replica of a commercial dance track, i forget the name right now, although its very well done by wf.
added on the 2002-07-22 03:27:30 by Panda Panda
I agree with you Panda for the effects.
But in general i like this demo, there's still the "fr touch" ;-)
Well done guys!

cleanly produced...any way to get the music track?
added on the 2002-07-22 07:55:26 by tyfighter tyfighter
hm, well, i´ve been told that kb & ryg hacked this together at the partyplace. and therefore, it´s a rather good intro. i agree with the rest - way to long. again a good wayfinder track!

Beautiful!!
Keep it up.
Farb-Rausch knows what creating demos is all about.

The track (obviously) is "Out of the blue" by System F, a track that I really like. The remix is quite good considering the limitations but of course it's not the original :-) Overall, an ok prod with partyhack written all over it :-)
added on the 2002-07-22 11:46:07 by moT moT
just to clear up any confusion over how and when this was made: the track is a remix i spent 4 hours on two days before the party (underground conference 6), and the visuals were done completely within about 8 hours on saturday (during which i held three compos cause i was the music organizer for the party). i reused two bits of geometry i had already put into fr-014, but with different textures and different camera work. some additional gfx were done by cp and ryg, but there wasn't time to credit them any more - i compiled the intro well into the first entry of the compo (which had two participants :D).

making it was TEH SUPREME FUN and i wish you could have seen my grin when it ran on the big screen. the track sounded unbelievable on the big PA, so it was all goodness to me. sorry if you find it a bit boring, i can understand that. just close your eyes and listen to the music :D

deserved 1st place for sure.
rulez added on the 2002-07-22 12:56:56 by dipswitch dipswitch
(slightly) fixed version coming up soon - there is a effect missing in one of the scenes, but when we discovered it (about 20 seconds before the intro was shown, during the first real test whether it worked :) there was no time to fix it.

the tune rockz. reminds me a bit at the soundtrack of the film "die unendliche geschichte". doesn´t know why.

come on, if you have to use an excellent song (and make a bad copy of it ;) why not at least use it in a good intro? =)

is ok. music better than code. one scene was nice, nothing more...
the code is exactly the same as in all my other intros.
added on the 2002-07-22 17:11:21 by ryg ryg
I like the scene that's mostly white with the big spikey thing in it but aside from that it all seems a bit rushed. Also they've made the mistake of repeating the boring effects.

"is ok. music better than code. one scene was nice, nothing more... "
Do you have the source code then? ;p

Well I liked the effects with white background, they looked stylish. If the whole intro was like that then I'd probably gave it thumb up. Music was very cool though :)
added on the 2002-07-22 17:29:24 by ravity ravity
i didnt mean it like that. sorry.. but i meant i think that overall the music was better than the graphics. i can't say anything wrong about the music because I liked it. the code and/or graphics had some drawbacks... there where only one scene that I liked.
For that size very nice...:)

but for my taste the fx sounds a bit too comercial.....

i don't like jokeprods. they ruin good compos because stupid people vote them, which ruins the results and take away points from groups that make good, serious demos.

rainmaker: there were no non-joke releases in the compo. heck, it was released on the underground conference, which means that atleast 70% of all compo entries are joke productions.
added on the 2002-07-23 13:16:01 by ryg ryg
It has great style for being such a simple prod.

I love the shiny, spiky, spirally, hum... thing... heh.
rulez added on the 2002-07-23 13:21:21 by Jare Jare
Cant say that this is a jokeproduction. The spiky thing and the rest of the white scenes gets a thumb up + the music.

FR should release stuff under another label and see how the reactions is then...people expect so much from FR :)
added on the 2002-07-23 13:38:12 by Wain Wain
Sorry, but I didn't like this.

The effects rank from bad to average, there is not coherence in this intro (no design).

If I should say anything positive, I think the music was nice but it deserved a better intro to accompany it.
sucks added on the 2002-07-23 14:50:18 by front243 front243
Rather dull stuff, smeared out far too long. For a ripped tune, it's not exactly a brilliant rendition of it :)

Keep releasing this stuff anyway, farbrausch. No merit in being serious all the time.
added on the 2002-07-23 14:52:40 by Shifter Shifter
First Farbrausch intro that managed to make my PC sweat (basically, one of the scenes didn't even appear, and the music started chopping :))

A bit recycled intro, but oh well, it has it's moments...

Bah, if I were you, I would not release the tests scenes mixed with techno : fr-014, and now fr-027. And... that's what I did, do, and will do :)
Nevertheless, some scenes are nice, just select those one, make it shorter, more precise, and nobody should notice it was made at the party ;)
Still to say, code is impressive, ryg's tool is huge, kb synth powerfull, etc. But you already know ;)

Ouch. The spikey things looked cool, but the rest just seems so pointless and plain. Plus the damn thing goes on and on and on and on and on. (I'm talking both music and effects here...)

I hit 'ESC' before the end was ever reached. (Is there and end??)

Tune rules. in 48k? Hell, I'd take it playing in a window. It's not, it's got some visualizations that, well, aren't the best but are better than 90% of the mp3 player visualizations. No, this isnt' visualizations; but it's 48k and it's still farging amazing.
final version just released. with some slight fixes and in 45.5k :)

some nice visuals and these are definately much nicer than annoying trance tune (which was quite well made, especially considering its 64k but represents no musical value for me).. somehow it was awfully slow on my machine, slower than poem to a horse which seems to be more CPU intensive..

Nice demo, although the initial sequences seem to go on for an unnecessarily long time. I'd heard the music track previously on the Mahal 3 CD a couple years ago (circa 2000-2001)... and unless Wayfinder did the original commercial track, no credit was given to covering the original. Since I don't want to assume anything here, I kept my rating neutral. If the track's original, then I'll be back for a thumb's up.
way too long and boring.

This could be interpreted as a tongue-in-cheek critique towards the lack of innovation and deep ideas in the mainstream demo scene productions, which instead focus on superficiality, visual looks and recycling of demo visuals going back to the Eighties.

Or, it could be crap made just for fun :) Though the white scene with the spikey things was really cool.

that song is called like the intro "out of the blue", and has some succes in germany in the year 1999.

i love that song from system f. the real name from him is ferry corrsten, and therefore it sounds so "professional".

in my opinion, he's a dutch trance-hero like armin van buuren and tiesto!
