Demoscene for kids

category: general [glöplog]
Charline, now over 2 years old, is a big fan of Aenima's "Egon & Donci" series.
She wants it to be played at least 3 times a day (along with Pixar shorts and various others).

Proud parents, what do your kids seem to enjoy from Demoscene ?

My lttle one likes to watch plastic, traction and asd. I suspect its a colour thing. She doesnt like noisey stuff or experimental. She doesnt like oldskool much (which is surprising given its simple shapes and colours often). However I'm suspicious as that corresponds v. closely with my tastes so, maybe I influence her.

I once showed some demos to my little cousins years ago and no they didn't liked demos, they wondered how that plasma cube in second reality is control and why doesn't it play? Then, in order to get rid of them and get back to coding, I ran Barbarian on Amstrad CPC in demo mode (gameplay), and let them punching the keys, thinking they are actually playing and fight with each other :)

@dip : lol, I just tried her with robisjarig. She loves the music, thinks the colours are nice and squealed with delight when artie danced. Then she lost all interest (when the 19 is bounding around).

Overall, thumbs up from Zosia.

I played Jeroen Tel's Myth song with guitar to my "27 days old" boy Kaan today. I'm not sure if he really liked the song but at least he stopped crying :D And thanks to Hydrogen/Glance, he has a very cute Glance baby outfit. Glance will have more younglings. Stay tuned ;) YUP my ass hahahah

As for the main subject, I tried Debris, The Popular Demo, all Traction demos, all Conspiracy demos and almost all of the ASD demos on my little brother (aged 8). He seems quite interested in ALL of them. I'm glad I will be able to turn him into a scener soon. But especially his favourite demo is Rob is Jarig he says it's quite funny to watch it.

@Skate : But we're the only youth demoscene group over there, here and everywhere, at least we're known for only consisting of younglings. So we're the dope now! Of course some challenge would be cool, but damn, I can't see any other "youth-only" demogroup. Possibly, we'll get Kaan to our group before Glance whenever he learns to do something (Graphicians required just so you know) :P.

Decipher: Looking for young graphicians? A 2-year old girl (The daughter of Juice/RBI) competed in the graphics compo at outline, maybe you should ask her to join your group? :-)

My daughter ( 3 years old ) really loves chipmusic, she's a big fan of Radix :-)
When it comes to demos she is really into these 3d-glasses demos becuase she likes to wear the red/cyan glasses. But she likes to see all kind aswell, her favourite groups are Traction, MFX and ASD but sometimes she wants to see "nakenfisen" ( Candytron ) and "han som glittrar" ( The Popular Demo ). She has already began her career as a graphican, perhaps we will release a demo soon. :D
My son is only 5 months old but already enjoys watching demos, atleats when it happens alot of things on the screen in many different colors, DCS style :)
