Breakpoint 2006

category: general [glöplog]
but be careful.. jungles can be dangerous for your health. ho ho ho..
magic: Given the fact that during the recent days you've acted in a really shitty way regarding Breakpoint several times (posting, reposting and re-re-posting private work-screens of the invitation demo etc), while at the same time repeating stuff like "what would easter be without breakpoint", "i love breakpoint" etc yaddayadda, the information that you've never ever BEEN to a Breakpoint indeed came as a surprise to me.

Anyway, summing this up the outcome obviously is:
- You are a lamer (spreading private worksteps)
- You are a troll (discussing and criticizing something you are not part of)
- You are a loony (because all this doesn't make sense).

I usually don't have any issues with talking to lamers (one can still try to educate them) nor to loonys (they can be fun). However, one should not feel trolls. So please: Get the fuck lost and waste someone elses time, we others are trying to talk about a party we organize/visit/love/want to improve.

Thank you. (And now back to the main topic)

"feed trolls", not "feel trolls".

magic, it's nothing personal... you should know that, because as you say, we don't know eachother personally.

but you gotta understand... i am putting a helluva lot of time, effort and a rather substantial part of my life savings on the line in an attempt to unite the various scenes in and around our beautifull little country. now in my opinion, your "debating techniques" are diametrically opposed to any such initiatives. it's 2005, we cannot live in these stupid "amiga", "c64", "pc" or "atari" columns anymore. times have changed, one cannot dream about the past forever. so i choose life- and i just think it's sad to see people who stick to their puny ivory towers...

magic, it's up to you really. either you keep living in the past and continue to be ridiculized by the rest of us, or you leave your higher moral ground for a change and join the real party. (it's outside y'know...)

Scamp: whatever you say. I dont care.
And OFCOURSE my arguments are based
from an outside perspective. There is nothing wrong with that in my view.

For example Johan Cruijff or Franz Beckenbouwer
are still looking and debating the soccer game giving there view on the whole, but they are not participating on the field.

And again if find it below the beld if a topic is discussed and people react on it on the person
instead with arguments on the topic itself.

Anyway end of discussion.

yes, compare yourself to Cruijff and Beckenbouwer why don't you! maybe there is a reason people react to the person and not your statements.. (tam tam tammmmm)

anyway, come to breakpoint! it's gonna be fun! wicked bad! say scamp, what kind of food can we expect this year?

okkie: This is WIP. The fries-guy from last year will return. I'm unsure about if we'll allow the sweets-lady to return. Additionally a good turkish food stand is planned (Döner Kebab etc). The pizza stand will get improved.

\o/ kebab \o/ wicked! and the fries-man has the currywurst right? cause it's no breakpoint without eating currywurst (just after puking.. ah.. good times)

Yes, of course.

kebab would be TOTALLY great. especially if they would serve lahmacun and börek, too. in fact, i would even think that a turkish food stand is enough overall because a good turkish imbiss can make all kind of food to please the meatlovers, the veggies, the diet people and so on... but on the other hand i'm just a big fan of turkish food, so... :)

There will be real veggie food, right? Though I admit, last year my frail vegetarian values were exposed to currywurst, and they didn't come out as the winner.

Okkie, Havoc: I don't think magic will come to Breakpoint because there's one big problem: bp is organized in Germany, mostly by German organizers. And you know:

If it aint dutch it aint much

Wow. I already can imagine 500 people leaving the hall after some bigger compo in the early evening, trying to get something to eat and there's only _one_ food support. People will love your for this suggestion. ;)
Ok, so there should be 3 turkish food stands then ;-)

the sweets-lady rocked! at least she made the security confiscate the ball some of the organizers were playing with infront of her booth. that was certainly entertaining. =)

I'd like to second Preacher on the veggie stuff, and I'm quite certain we're not the only two. However, if remember, more veggie was planned for 2005 but something fell through, correct?

Having said that, I'm not planning on visiting Breakpoint this year -- or any other demoparty for that matter. Nothing personal or anything, but I have two month holiday in Japan planned, and that will require all my economic resources for 2006. But, hey, 2007 will be here before you know it!
No veggie food at bp 2005? If I remember correctly, I ate really acceptable spaghetti there (or was it something different?). And you can perfectly live 3-4 days with only eating spaghetti. So if the spaghetti lady is back, I will be perfectly happy. If you could just convince her to bring a larger pot. After the compos, the first 5 got their food, then we had to wait about 20 mins for the next 5 people to get something. Aww...

About the sweets lady... I don't think the candy shop was all that crowded. Though I can't really remember...
