cousin of a friend of mine ran a BBS, he showed some nice demos to us once (i remember him showing me at least ultraforce's vectordemo and some bbstros and later also iguana's inconexia.. i was really hooked cos of that iguana demo :) .. so that was around 1992/1993 and i was 10 or so. (and explains why im a pc lamer :P)

i'd say that the age of young scener boys depends on what is the legal age of consent in the country where they are residing.
cause we wouldn't do anything illegal, right?

there is a BIG difference in beeing a 'scener' and a productive scenere, latter actually implies that you provide some effort.

In norway we have some 16years old productive sceners. i guess i started coding basic at that age myself.

"productive" doesn't only mean gfx, music and code. back in the days you could be a swapper or a sysop and still be considered "full" scene member.

Yeah, that was back then. Nowadays storage and bandwidth is cheap, it doesn't take as much effort to swap and host.
It's probably for this reason the crack and demo scene has somehow diverted from each other compared to 10-20 years ago.

heh i think according to the Republic of Turkey's identity that i own i'm the second youngest scener :P i was born in 1989 after the immigration to turkey after 1 year. Turkey didn't accept our Yugoslavian identities cuz there was war and Yugoslavia was about to get destroyed so Turkey offered us a new identity from ground zero. In my family for the elders there's a big space in the birthdate field but for the children of the family like me 1 year of loss is considered as nothing so it is cited as 21.05.1990 for my birthday. Hurray i'm 17 but i'm 16 \o/. By the way this rulez sometimes :)

my grandmother still carries her ottoman identity, she's 105 or smt.

I was born on 4 Aug 1989, I think I'm a computer nerd, but I don't care about that, I also learn software cracking, keygenning, serial phishing etc etc. And I really hate the mainstream, arghhh I hate mainstream people god damm them all.

I'm 15 and just did my first prod ( http://pouet.net/prod.php?which=25946 ) but i wouldn't call me a scener yet... but i'm a computer geek for sure and coding for years...
