1. It's Widescreen (i.e. wider diagonal for the same kind of desktop estate for 4:3 screens of pro laptops)

2. Apple is legalese for 'gay frappachino loser who thinks he is defined by buying obsolete one-button systems'

3. Show me one hardware innovation from Apple that is actually innovative -no, shiny cases and high prices opposed to lower yields every year don't count.

4. Go troll elsewhere, it's not even funny.

You have clearly never put an apple computer in a PC enviroment before.

I've seen stonings that were prettier. (No, I don't like macs, I find them to be very an ineffective waste of good money)

Well just look at how the rest of the world has adopted Firewire, wich now has been a standard on macs for quite some years while the pc world fought with slow USB

Using a OpenGL acellerated GUI with use of shaders (Quartz Extreme on osX.2) kicks ass aswell.

The ipod still continues to kick every musicplayers ass :)

stefan: besides from the fact that it's 1 inch thick and in sweet titan? And please give me link to a 17" pclaptop...or any laptop remotely as slick looking...

I'd chop of my rigth pinkey to get a laptop pc as slick and powerful as the new powerbook..

my laptop is probably more powerful and with the same abillities..but its goddam heavy and not a chance in the world that it look half as good..and look is everything.. powermacs are ok to bring to partys...

Safaaaaaaaaari! finally!!! damn fast. :D

I saw keynote yesterday, too. I am very satisified with it. =) And well iLife just roxx. Show me an other company offering 4 fucking high quality products for 49$... or for free with every new Mac from now on.

The perfect thing to put in your bag before going to a demopart: a high-end Dell laptop. I installed one for one of my friends yesterday, this baby got everything 2.8Ghz P4, Geforce4 go, 512MB ram, and a 15" LCD display which had the most crisp and clear 1600x1200 display I had ever seen.

I have a mac, I like it (posting from it now), os x 10.2 is great. os x is what linux should be if the 10000 linux developers had a clue and some good taste.

if the last mac you've seen was a five-year old box running os 8 or something, you should find out what the mac os is like these days - it's embarrassing how smart people keep throwing around things like "macs crash all the time".

saffron: i second that. if linux got a more "inspiring" layout and directx supprot..there would be no stop to it

gekko: I was hoping you'd toss Firewire and GL accelration into this :)

shifter - so why don't you tell us why firewire doesn't count? :)

in case I need to write a personal ad some beautiful day, I'll keep in mind your advice that "Mac user" is a useful shorthand for "gay frappachino loser who thinks he is defined by buying obsolete one-button systems" :)

"pouet regular" is also a good way of putting "manic-depressive forum troll who posts blowjob pics in every discussion thread".
god bless stereotypes, they make life so easy :)

saffron+nelius, I dont get it, how would I ever get my linux-console-no-x11 install to look as slick as Aqua upon a BSD based kernel ?
But thats probably not the point...
Anyway, if the KDE/Gnome teams did care to take a look, there would certinaly be some improvements to the most common window managers.. I that would be nice, even though I wouldnt notice...

saffron: Note that I never said anything about Firewire. It's just that USB, in either incarnation, is more widespread and common than Firewire. Other than that it's neat stuff -but innovative it is not. That's like calling a two-button mouse on an Apple a landslide in mice.

Neither is having a 3D Accelerated GUI imho -it's been done years before. (google that, I'm not looking forward to bbcode links ;) Just not on an Apple, that's why Apple fans don't know :)

Just as with the GUI, the mouse, single-unit computers, tft-attached-to-computer, optical mice...APPLE DIDN'T THINK OF THAT THEMSELVES JUST BECAUSE JOBS SAYS SO.

And as far as stereotypes go: I always categorized you as the loudmouth yet-in-real-life-fucking-hippie spook who promises to beat up people, but won't really. Can I now dump you in the "single mouse buttons are difficult enough" corner? ;)

If Apple users are so expressive and creative, where are the spiffy artsy Mac demos?

mac rules. linux suck.

there is really nothing more to know in life.

Macs make great fish bowls.
shifter, mm let's just say they are "so expressive and creative" that they don't bother at all with demos?

www.macscene.org - It is my humble opinion that people should talk when they know what they are talking about. Most of the stuff comes from the NeXT days... even the cube.
