Hey! that photo is *not* Evoke 2006!

1. No people playing Wii
2. Skrebbel?

Oh wait, so this is how it feels to punch the air and miss... (goes back to sniffing glue)

Gargaj : well since you have to fly for almost 20 hours and consider the ticket prices... you see it's not that free ;)

australia sounds like another planet :D and i want to visit there (not soon unfortunately).
Cheers for the feedback!

Syntax Party website will have more info on it later in the year, and keep checking it coz we'll probably organize some little pre-party events that could be fun to come to.

One of them will hopefully be a "Demos on the Beach" session where we'll bring 240v generator / laptop / projector / PA system down to St Kilda beach and let it rip at 9pm until we get shut down! Could be a good night as long as we don't get arrested :-D We'll keep ya posted!

shifter: Yeah... the photos at Evoke were missing a few core elements! I have plenty of pictures featuring drunk people yelling down megaphones, drinking Kolshe, dancing at the specdrumm VIP lounge and looking hung over the next day...

Gargaj: Yes... FREE PARTY! You don't have to dress up as a girl and try to fool security to get free entry (Has anyone ever tried this at Asm I wonder?)

dipswitch: Looking at Breakpoint '09, but maybe Evoke '08 as well depending on if I'm visiting family that year. See ya there! BTW: Do you have any of the photos Madenmann was shooting at the pre-party session we had at your place last Evoke? It'd be cool to have a look :-D

demos on the beach!!
w00t!!
we had that idea once aswell, but we never bothered with the logistics :D we settled for a picnic on seashore cliffs with a laptop and some picnic stuff like vodka and beer and blankets :D

ctrix: ha, i even forgot that madenmann was shooting pics at my place! never seen them...

hey madenmann, do you have them still?

ps: Logicistics for us = PA system / projector in my lounge, generator w/ UPS at a friends house (who would come anyway) and the beach is 100 meters at the end of my street. The only tricky thing is setting up something to project on!! A sheet between 2 mic stands maybe?

metapat: We'd love to fly you out here, but being a free party, and paying for it ourselves makes it a tad tricky!! :-) However, I've got 2 x PAL Sony PD170's with good operators I can use for free. A feed from the audio desk is easy along with an atmos mic for the live streaming audio. Vision switcher is the only thing we'd have to borrow but we might be using a friends Video Toaster at this stage! (go Amiga go!) If you guys can get us the nfo we need to be able to stream, we'll try and get it live for you. We will have tapes rolling anyway so we can send you a highlights cut a couple of weeks later if you want it.

I'm thinking of taking a PD170 to Nullabor too, so I can probably send you something from that party too :-) Although I should probably ask the organisers first - I'll get to that later this month!

Demos on the beach sounds awesome to me! Just need to make sure I don't drown.

Also, if any european sceners seriously do head down here for this party, I'll personally guarantee you somewhere to sleep and beer - maybe not even home brew ;)

just because they got the most venomous snakes, most venomous spiders, most venomous sealife, highest shark infested waters and koalas there is no need to be scared.

failing all else, it wouldn't be hard to track down some volleyball posts and find some sort of canvas for the middle
