It takes a special kind of person to totally ignore the irony in that statement coming from someone who listed their "Location" as "kazaa superstore".

I swear; you can't make these things up! Only on the internet, my peeps. :)

Hmm... I think you'll never hear a peep out of Timbaland or Geffen. They'll just wait until the 'net hype wears off, and then it's back to business as usual. But I'm sure whoever was responsible will be more careful in the future, and at least try to transpose the next stolen demoscene tune up a third or something.
thom: I don't agree. I think both Janne and Glenn has a very good case here, and if they get some proper legal and financial support Geffen cannot ignore this issue any longer, and neither can Timbaland. It's in everyones best interest to address this as soon as possible.

In between all the slander that tEH INTAHn3T-people toss around, there is a very simple fact that's not to be forgotten; Timbaland has talent. Loads of talent. AND; he has a very good reputation -- he, of all people, has the best reason to resolve this quickly.

If they try the waiting game, it will backfire horribly, because so far I think the spreading of the news has been very gentle. It's possible to play much harder ball than has been done, if one wanted to reach for the headlines that is.

"Very good" is an understatement, but multi-million dollar industries don't play fair. (That's how they become multi-million dollar industries...)

We can point the finger and flame Timberland all day but it’s a bit like a hamster in one of those wheels. It might feel good for the hamster but it not getting anywhere and it’s still locked in a pokey little cage. After all our ranting directed at Timberland, the loopholes of injustice will still remain and it'll only be a matter of time before another rich guy decides to whip his cock out and stick it right up the ass of some other poor unsuspecting guy - knowing that that guy will not have enough money to even bring him to the door of justice, let alone an actual courtroom.

Nah, next time it'll be a 1:1 rip. Because they don't have to answer to the poor in America and all his moronic fans will still support him and call it "sampling" anyway. :-P

thom: If history has told us anything, it's that all great walls are torn down with the start of a single crack. If we are very lucky, this could be that crack. At least let us not give up before the battle has even begun :)

Piru: When this winds down a little, I am so totally making some t-shirts with quotes from this whole ordeal. So far I have these golden nuggets:

"lol! its called SAMPLING yuo idiot!

"the original song is crap anyway, big deal"

and of course..

"they're from this european thing called the demoscene, apparently its huge!"

etc. etc.

You'd think they would realize that if the mod went thru assembly qualification process, and was performed for couple of thousand of people *someone* would notice some lame game tune ripping...

:-)

CSDB-forum on this issue seems to produce more retard threads than the average non-scene-connected forum. I'm a bit surprised of this.

Someone should tell that guy how many listeners has kohina, nectarine, bitfellas radio, and a few other streams per day...

Also added on Fok.nl. There's some real brainacs posting there, including this guy who calls shenanigans because he's sure Timbaland made that beat earlier ...for a ringtone. Welcome to last week indeed :D

WHATVER:

AFTER HOURS OF PERMANENT THINKING I THINK THAT TIMBALAND IS OKAY CAUSE HE REALLY SEEMS TO LOVE THE SONG- LIKE EVERYONE ELSE AND HE RESPECTS IT VERY MUCH AND STUFF. SO HE USED IT 2 TIMES CAUSE HE LOVES THIS TUNE SO MUCH. AND I REALLY THINK HE LOVES THE TUNE! SO HE LOVED THIS TUNE VERY MUCH AND WHEN HE WENTZ TO BED HE ALWAYS THOUGHT " I LOVE THIS TUNE SO MUCH BUT I DONT NOW WHO THIS GUY IS...THAT MADE THE TUNE!" SO THEN AFTER HE THOUGHT THAT VERY MUCH PEOPLEZ OF TIMBALAND CHECKED THE WHOLE INTERNET FOR THE SONG AND DIDNT FIND IT. TIMBALAND WAS VERY SAD CAUSE HE LOVED THE SONG AND HE ALWAYS WANTED TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THE GUY WHO MADE THAT GREAT SONG TO SAY HOW GREAT IT IS AND STUFF. THAN HE THOUGHT "I MAKE SOME TRACKS WITH THAT TUNE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THE GUY WHO MADE THAT SONG !"
AND SO HE DID, CAUSE HE ONLY WANTED TO FINDZ OUT WHO THIS GUY IS.

WHAT I WANT TO SAY IS:
TIMBALAND IS IN LOVE WITH TEMPEST!

AND SERIOUSLY- IS LOVE A CRIME ?

PS: AND THE REASON WHY HE DIDNT GET IN TOUCH WITH TEMPEST IS, THAT TIMBALAND IS VERY SHY AND NERVOUS CAUSE SO MANY PEOPLE ARE LOOKING.

I THINK THAT FITS.

There's no better way to say "I love you" than copyright infringement.

Hempest: as for CSdb.. don't be so hard on the posters. I have the pleasure to know/met some of the posters in real on that thread and they are nice bunch of people, amazing at their specific skill etc BUT more important some of the most humble people you will ever meet.

If its a matter of "love" i guess a divorce
settlement = 50% .. I should have become a lawyer.
