a problem with v2 synth and renoise

category: general [glöplog]
hello all, i've tried several times to get to know the supposedly-groundbreaking
v2 synth with renoise, but every time i try to load it from instr settings/vst instruments properties i get a "failed to open the vst instance" message. all other instrument/fx vst's i've tried work fine. any clues as to what might be causing this?

thx in advance,
grip/traction

ok, let me be first:
There's nothing "groundbreaking" with v2, it's actually quite mediocre these days.

sorry. unless you compare it to conspiracy stuff.

use it with buzz. renoise is for tracking.

Use MusicMon 2.5.
It's groundbreaking!

Are you working on a 64k track on a base of older tracked song? Like Jeenio said, might want to try another program. At least V2 works perfectly with Logic and Cubase, don't know about the rest...

we had problems using our synth in renoise cos it didnt support omni mode for midi into vst - our synth likes to get all the midi channels at once. it still loaded fine, tho.

oh, one problem you might get with renoise is if the synth depends on any dlls - renoise for some reason doesnt seem to always find them if they're in the dir with the vst, try moving any dlls into the path or renoise's exe directory or something. :) (it wont give you any useful error messages about it, obviously.)

Smash, did you contact the renoise team about that?

gargaj, and it's not released yet? :(

ANd wtf is this comment "renoise is for tracking"...
@smash: then goGO!
kaneel: seems like he is challening you for a .xrns duel at numerica multitrack compo to me.

v2 and renoise works ok here but its a bit tricky indeed. but "failed to open vst" is strange, are you sure you set up the vst path in the configs right?

@ps: omfg, a duel? But i haven't felt the sweet slap of the gauntlet.... you must be wrong :)
kaneel: *slap*

.xrns only or .whateverwewant? :)
Better go IT2 or FT2 for a pure multitrack compo :)
i don't care... i'm not even sure what the rules are :)

ahAH :)
I may be only submitting a .it, i just don't see the use of using renoise for a multichan entry.

Anyway, end of off topic :D

As much as Buzz is.
