*unofficial* BP arrival times

category: general [glöplog]

How much people is arriving at BP at the same time as me?
In an attempt to not pollute too much the real BP thread (too late anyway) I'll post this here.

Hope it might be useful to the orgas too... who knows.
As you notice, you aren't allowed to arrive in days other than the 5th or 6th of april :P

To whoever added "April 5th 8pm" as his arrival time - forget it ;)

The party opens on April 6th. The only exception for earlier arrival is for long-distance travelers coming by plane, and even then entering the location before ~22:00 won't be possible as we'll still be setting up things.

scamp > about april 5th 8pm, is a plane from west of france considered to be long distance enough ?
Everything that travels without you controlling when it does that is ok. Like - there is no reason to arrive early with your own car, or with a train connection that goes every hour.

It's just a "if you don't have a NEED to come earlier, please don't as we will be really busy to set things up and legally are not allowed to let anyone enter the hall before constructions works are done" sanity rule. Last year we had people climbing through the half-constructed infoteam tent. No insurance will pay if anyone gets hurt in such a situation (and I'll go to jail).

Btw, people going by plane most likely will use our shuttle service anyway, and we'll make sure those shuttles don't arrive too early ;)

scamp: ok, i'm asking cause the only affordable plane tickets are ryan air Nantes(France) <--> Frankfurkt Hahn

the problem is:
party arrival == Thrusday, April 5th, 8pm
flight back == Monday, April 10th, 5pm

so without speaking german, i definitely need to feel secure and plan what i'll do on thursday and monday evenings :)

Guardian, there's a really nice hostel in Frankfurt called Stay and Learn, right next to the railway station.. I've been there for two years in a row now for a couple of nights, and will be going there this year too with my girlfriend. The bus from there to Frankfurt costs 12 euros, and getting to Bingen from Frankfurt on Friday is pretty easy (in 2005 I went by local trains, and last year first took the train to the Frankfurt Main airport and from there continued with a scenebus).

Even though it's a business city, Frankfurt still has plenty of stuff to see, even if you're there only for one night..

Preacher: He's talking about Hahn, not Frankfurt.

Guardian: I don't see any problem really - sound like perfect arrival and departure times. You'll be surrounded by probably at least 40 other sceners in both cases, sharing the same bus with you etc.

(to clarify: arriving at the airport at 8pm means that you won't make it to the location before 10pm anyway ;)
