We defy the math gods and host Solskogen in a odd numbered year! Solskogen is a very cool "demosceners only" party, with focus on the social and cool old platforms. :) Pictures from previous events are on Slengpung and you can find testemony from previous Solskogen attendants everywhere, just ask the cool people who went there in 2002, 2004 or 2006. :)

Uber nice party last year. I bet this year will be just as good.

Now, Ive been out before with my big fat negative mouth regarding a certain other party held i Norway. That time, totally unjustified. But may I come with some constructive criticism to last years Solskogen?

-Getting from the train station to The Party place is a pain, and can become an expensive deal if you are not traveling by car or in a group. I think taxi was around 150NOK one way. If you want to go to ÅS sentrum on Saturday to get "supplies", you are looking at a total Taxi bill of 5- 600 NOK when you return to the trainstation on Sunday.

Maybe there could be arranged a transport thing from the Station to the partyplace. Setting up a simular arrangement as the Airport Shuttlebus thing to/from Breakpoint.
As many people come to the party by car, I guess there wont be that many people needing a lift. So perhaps a Minibus would do.

Say 100NOK for a Total Ticket. And 50Nok for those only using the Saturday bus to ÅS.

-There were no prizes last year? I assume because of a limited budget.
How about encouraging visitors to donate prizes as it was done at KG2006. I dont think the value of a prize is that important to sceners, but the symbolic thing of physically getting something is appreciated I think.

BAH! Just disregard the Bus thing.
Passengers would probably have to pay a crazy price just to cover the rent cost for the Bus. I forgot that this is Norway. Nothing comes cheap.
But maybe there can be done some deal with a Taxi company. Pre-order trips or something....

tft: Why do you think we raised the ticket-price a nudge? :) The idea was, like you outlined there, that some specific arrivals/departures would be financed by us. That means, for example, that if you arrive at Ås with the 15:30 train from Oslo, you get a free minibus-ride to the partyplace.

..and no; there were no prizes last year, because the budget went a-hole and I had to start paying for stuff personally at the end there. We were thinking about doing a "Corporate ticket" that costs twice the amount of a normal ticket, like BP. Such a ticket would go directly to finance the prizes.

leia: How long has your marriage-date been decided? I mean; it's not like you know any of the people arranging Solskogen and could have said something earlier :) Anyho, the date is fixed in stone now, so nothing can be done about that :(

kusma: When she uses the phrase "a certain scener" it usually means herself, so.. :) Well; then Arcane should have told us so that we could have chosen a different date.. or, as Gargaj says; BACHELOR PARTY! :)

Gargaj .. Scene Event 2004 was the coolest bachelor party ever for macaw, it was actually so cool that he didn't show up .. but forced a lot of people to go straight from partyplace to his wedding ;)

gloom: seriously, who the fuck would have such a bloated ego that they'd expect someone to move a sceneparty because of something happening in their private life?

Anyway, the date is set and people should just shut their talkholes and book their tickets.

slummy: Actually I can think of quite a few -- and that's just in a few milliseconds as well. Give me a few hours and I'd have a list as long as.. .well.. pretty much as long as the list of known sceners lying next to it. :)

..but yes; shut your ingestive openings and book your tickets! Come to Solskogen 2007 good people; we promise it will be a BLAST!

Well, Solskogen 1 was in 2002, this is Solskogen 4, now let's count with that: Solskogen 1 + 2002 + 4 = Solskogen 2007. Looks like the math goods win again.
