Maximum Overdose oldschool party in northern Germany

category: general [glöplog]
http://mo.c64.org

I wanna see some more Amiga people there this time. Lübeck is located so centrally that no oldschool scener from northern Europe has an excuse not to go there. As we party the whole Whitsun weekend, it's gonna be like Breakpoint - aside from the fact that we have a huge official BBQ outside! And a sleepinghall!! And nice catering!!! So, who's going?

its probably even better than Breakpoint ;)--<

but seriously, why mix speccy with Amiga? if you dont get enough compos, then you should combine them, else split the platforms..

I'll try my very best but I can't promise anything. Would be nice to come especially as I missed any single party this year yet.

@Browallia
If there are enough entries, we'll definately have seperated compos (like 8-bit, 16-bit...)

So fix your entries, folks! Email-Submissions are allowed (won't receive prices though, only fame).

i never got the idea of "sceners on <non-vintage computer here> are not welcome here!!!!11122" parties so much.

Well, it's an oldschool party, so of course, High-End Sceners are very welcome, but they shouldn't expect a PC-Demo compo. You can always bring your PC to run emulators on it, no problem. But headphones are definitely not allowed. Anyway, News from our homepage:

We added the timetable, take a look. (mo.c64.org)
If you want to compete with a remote-entry please be aware that the
deadline for remote-entries is Friday, 25th 14:00h CET.
(We already got some entries - it will be a tough competition! compete!)
We are proud to present you a special sneak-preview of the documentary 8BIT (see trailer / see web) on saturday.
For all those poor databoys who can´t attend MO we will stream the DATADISKO on fridaynight live on C64.com:8000
and several other relays, please check back on friday to get a list of all available relays and TUNE IN to party with us.
We also invite you to join #mo8 on IRCnet to preparty with us.

i'm considering to make the trip, but...

headphones are not allowed?! care to explain what that is about? (not that i was planning to wear any, but neither do i feel like sitting 4 days in the middle of a bunch of jerks who are mc'ing on their PA (any regular visitor of german parties knows who/what i'm talking about...))

and just for the record- what's your attitude towards marijuana consumption? :)

Wish I could be there. Seems like it's going to be a cool party.
Hope I'll see some of you guys at Big Floppy People in July though.

skrebbel: At least, only MS-DOS PCs aren't allowed. You might bring your PC-DOS PC, FreeDOS PC, Win95 PC, Win98 PC, WinMe PC, WinNT PC, Win2k PC, WinXP PC, Vista PC, Linux PC, BeOS PC, GNU Hurd PC or your ReactOS PC. Maybe even more PCs!

Let's not forget OS/2 PC!
added on the 2007-05-18 11:06:47 by kusma kusma
Actually, you can't bring a Win95 or 98 pc either, as they're dos-based (:

And you forgot FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD, SKYos, Zeta, and Haiku PC's.
and leave your headphones at home. bring in-ear-phones instead, they're much more oldschool.

Headphones: It is only a joke. Of course you can bring headphones. Sorry for missing the ;)-tag.
And of course you can bring PC's too. But we do not want you to play counterstrike or watch porn on your PC all the time. We want you to contribute to the small scenes of Amiga, C64 etc.
By slave purposes we mean using them for emulators and cross compilers. A lot of people bring their laptops for that, so don't be afraid to come by.

Considering the fact that MS-DOS is older than the C64, the whole DOS-is-not-allowed rule doesn't make sense anyhow :-)
