RIP arguru

category: general [glöplog]
Juan Antonio Argüelles, "Arguru" has died in one car accident in Málaga (Spain) yesterday Sunday 3 June.

Musicians and coders that have made something about audio for sure know him very good. He was a amazing audio stuff coder.
Creating the first version of Renoise, Aodix, Helping with programs like Buzz, Psycle, and developing a lot of VSTis.
Nowadays he was working on FLstudio and deckadence...

No way man! I didn't recognise the nick at first, but as soon as I saw "Arguelles" it hit me. He made some of the finest buzzmachines IMO - no shit and straight to the point. It feels so weird to mourn someone's loss when all I've known is his buzzmachines, and I am sure somebody with such a fine creative output must have been an awesome guy to know personally. RIP man.

Never heard of him by name, but anyone who has worked on renoise or buzz deserves my respect.

RIP!

FUCK !
Lately, i improved & revamped his old nt2 to make it more usable for 64k intros and i was just about to contact him before releasing anything.
That guy was very talented. :(

That's a bummer. I noticed his name in a lot of soundware.

oh :( rest in peace. His NTK was just like a big wonder for me, a tracker with 2 x 303 emulation was surely unique those days.

I think, that people use minute of silence when a person is dead, or something like that. They did not do propaganda for themselves.

Only if you never used his Buzz machines from before NTK. Sure, they were off-pitch and some were incredibly unstable, but I LIKED THEM.

I remember smirking in the metro networks of Madrid when I changed stations at Arguelles *sigh*. Oh well, let's drink our favorite toasting liquid to him.

Damn. He did a great job with all those pieces of software. I've been liking his stuff since I first started using Buzz. The name Arguru will always stay familiar to me, although I never knew the guy. RIP.

Sad news indeed. I wonder why people only mention his buzz machines. He was also the creator of psycle (open-sourced it later on) and aodix, did stuff for smartelectronix, had his own little company selling VSTi plugins and the renoise guys wouldn't be there where they are today without him. RIP.
