Oh i bet half of the morphing objects and colorschemes were originally unintentional. Plus some designish stuff like clipping, postprocessing effects and general effect ideas were inspired by buggy implementations of probably unrelated software.
I reckon the thread can be virtually closed now.

Buggy customchips, too...
weird rendering bugs are the best demo effects, because they're harder to figure out how to reproduce :D

But it's a bit "cheap", isn't it? Or do coders see themselves as pioneers whenever discovering a new bug that could be turned into an effect?

Some of the effects in World Of Commodore were based on bugs, IIRC.
