yes but right now it's pissing me off. and let me speak a clear language. i do expect nitro2k1 to do that, he's been parasiting off pouet and the demoscene for his own entertainment since a while already without doing shit for the demoscene and without understanding its purpose, its values and its ethics (or perhaps misunderstanding pouet "ethics" for what demoscene is about). but if i see promising serious sceners like xernobyl (party organizer etc.) encouraging such lameness, i get angry. wtf guys, there is much work to do. instead of posting lame pics, do something productive for fucks sake. and if you cant code/compose/paint, look for a good topic to write an article for pain or zine. or support gasman's demozoo database by adding credits. and somebody is wondering about the scene being "dead"? i got a job and a life, yet i'm investing a few hours a day into improving scene infrastructures or preserving scene history. and you are clap-clapping to lame threads with lame pictures?

I'm also a studying at the university, so expect less trolling from my side from this Monday when my semester starts.

i can't "do" stuff like that. i'm not an admin. but even if i was: there is nothing to say about some amusement. i like browsing the random images thread. and the garfield stuff is simply EXCELLENT. but opening up tons of new topics with some retarded shit is simply unnecessary and speaks volumes about a person's mental state.
i'm not looking for respect for pouet or whatever - i'm just can't take it no more that apparently pouet is flooded with people who DONT GIVE A SHIT about scene at all. if you gave a shit, then you would show some respect by, for example, not trolling around, or not releasing "productions" which are obvious shit and you even know that they are shit but you still release them. that's DISRESPECT. while the scene is about mutual respect and creative competition.

I repeat: The pouët BBS is known to be a place for trolls, and you have two choices here:
1) Try to change that by trying to persuade ps or whoever is in charge into doing something about the situation. (Removing the disclaimer etc) Do what you can to achieve a change
or:
2) Just accept it.
And yes, I troll and I need to do that because of personal tension. Thus I try to find arenas where it's more or less acceptable to do so. I try not to troll in an area like the prod comments, since that is considered a serious part of the site. (Except for cases when the prod is utter crap)
However, I willingly admit that I'm a BBS troll and enjoy being that. As long as the BBS is a troll-hole, I will continue to troll here, because it canalises some feelings I have. Simple as that.
I don't like when the concept of schizophrenia is used in the wrong way, since it just feeds the misconcetoptions about actual schizophrenics. I think what you wanted to say was rather that I'm a hypocrite, and yes I am. I have different sets of opinions and behaviours depending on where I am, what I do and how I feel.

If I could, I'd sure like to delete some of them in retrospect. Here are some comments on that:
jsmosaic - A serious attempt, however, done under the wrong premises. I was eager to release something, so I did, But I tried to keep the code as "correct" as I could instead of using tricks, which meant the prod turned out lame. I wish I hadn't released this, but done is done.
Colorful Tentacle (aka Errors per Second) - Actually an ok-ish prod.
Octopii (Tentacle Tree) - Done after the one above, in the rush of inspiration. Although it somehow sucks, it represents something and I want it to be left as is.
z.bat (11b screenfiller) - This was a response to a prod called 32.bat which was equally lame. In retrospect, I wouldn't have needed to create a prod to show this, that was a mistake.
To sum up it up, I wouldn't have anything against having z.bat and maybe jsmosaic deleted.

I gave up on serious posts on pouet a long time ago. If I tried something useful, often it would be ignored, and/or pouetized. I discovered if I want technical or creative thinking, to find it somewhere else. Otherwise pouet is fun in its own way (besides downloading demos) hence the reason I still visit about every day. :D
If you post something serious, you're likely to get serious answers at first. It's mostly when the thread grows old and tiresome that pouëtization occurs.
I understand the ethos of the scene. I go to demoparties, I code stuff, I consider myself a "scener", but I enjoy the silly pouet bbs. I think its fun. Who gives a shit?
