Haven't been in contact with him for about 5 years or so but still this feels really horrible.

My deepest condolences to all his friends and family.

that's one of the saddest things i ever heard :(

Ever heard of the nazi's slaying 6 million jews?
Ever heard of the serbs slaying 8000 muslims in Srebenica?
Ever heard of the koreans slaying 8000 christians in 1866?
Ever heard of the big tsunami in 2004 killing <=200000?
Ever heard of the conflict in Darfur, killing more than 4 million over the last 4 years?

And yes, I too become sad, whenever a scener dies - luckily I have never lost a fellow scener that I REALLY knew, but even in that case I'm pretty sure I would not...hm...looking the right word here....ok, I'm going to use 'succumb'....to the quite intense sensation of sadness, anger and frustration that happens every time a scener dies. It's quite amazing, how sceners, who did not know this guy, sends out condolences and RIPs, just because they become aware of that he was a scener. Maybe he was an asshole IRL? Maybe HE picked the fight? Myabe HE was the big bully in the fight and he was a victim of somebody defending themselves? Oh my god...look at what you've done to me! I'm ranting like a maniac and it's tuesday morning...

Feck it..... RIP Skybax and all other people I mentioned in this rant.
very subtle nutman. remind me to not give you a beer on breakpoint.

I guess the concept of a community is utterly lost on some people.

Eventhough Nutman was overreacting, the demoscene isn't as tight a 'community' as you might think it is..

Nutman: You can be sad even if you don't know the person.

Sure, but where's the POINT?
If you wanted to, you could read about deaths every day and be sad all day long. I'm not that emo, sorry.
Not emo, just a moron.

Anyway, RIP, always sad to hear :(
Rob: Read my thread. Carefully.
It's not like I don't get sad when a scener dies (see the word "RIP" in my 1st post?), but I think some persons overreact when things like this happen. Perhaps, it's just normal human behaviour, but that doesn't take away my right to ponder about/rant over it.
I understand what you mean... but maybe it would be better to post it somewhere else and let people grief in whatever way they want.
