zipfiles

category: general [glöplog]
I am going to do someone a favour here.

The 'lazy arses', don't write demos to please an audience, they don't really care if the audience is clever enough to open a zip file, and, most of all, they don't give a shit about whether some skill-less forum troll gives them a thumb, up or down. They make demos for fun, they like what they do and the only way to get their attention is to make something better. You see the picture now? It's THEIR demos that count. Your thumb counts less than shit.

Watch out for me today, I haven't had a smoke for some 32 hours now and I am cracking...! :-[

33: get a demo done, and later you will be able to tell wheter or not making a packer is something "important". Speaking about a topic without even knowing anything is lame...

shash, as if you HAVE to make a packer, I know how to use a packer and I have used a packer. All yoou have to do is load your stuff from a file using a special unpacking routine, which even the lameass NO DEMO that I am know how to use. It takes 10 minutes to implement.

Thank you.

YOu know what, the next thing you'll get is a demo with a trojan horse and then you'll wonder where is our society going towards.

33: yes, everything in your world takes 10 minutes to implement, so go code a demo, and stop loosing your time posting (and you'll make most os us happy)

Ya know, Stefan writes some negative shit, but at least it's somewhat amusing, so he's okay by me.

Plek writes some negative shit, but at least he backs it up with actual knowledge, so he's okay by me.

Spengler disses almost every single production, but at least he's quiet about it, so he's okay by me.

But this 33 guy is from another planet. I hearby nominate him for a scene.org 2003 award! Now all we need to do is invent a suitable category...
Thom, I don't need to know about any other gay Canadians, SHUT THE FUCK UP and STICK TO THE SUBJECT.

shash, you must be brainless deviate the sub ject towards me as I will take great pleasure to trash you up your oh so sweet cunt. SO please don't try and give me direction as I will point you to your insecure life.

Abotu making a demo in 10 minutes, no, I won't, I don't have interest into doing so. How about you?

Now shut up!!!

I think 33 can't make a demo. Packer or no packer.

bah...
*scribbles checkmark on the "senseless thread" list*
totalcmd/wincmd offers this nifty thing called "Unpack all and execute" you know, so what else do you want? :]

As for the "pack-the-data-into-a-file" part...

I have sort-of-a hobby, which basically consists of cracking/depacking/etc. demos' datafiles. It's fun, so I encourage you to do datafiles instead of "data" directories. And it's l33t anyway.

But.

Calling someone lame just because he doesn't need/have that 10 minutes makes no sense... I mean... most people don't care about it, there is no such rule at compos, etc.

So why bother? Do it the way you want, and that's all.

33: are you so damn stupid to reply to my messages just insulting? I repeat, go code a prod, and then you'll be able to speak about this subject actually KNOWING what you're talking about, and not just insulting people and saying nonsenses.

just use http://sol.planet-d.net/zip/cfl3r3.zip for filepacking and you're al done :-)

(or use rarlib!)

most important thing is that the file_id.diz is DIRECTLY in the zip and not in some folder.

How about someone writes a quick prog that compresses the whole folder using rarlib or whatever else, and when you run it it gives you the option of viewing the nfo or running the demo (giving the file size for 64k's etc).

Then we'll have no more fannying around.

most important thing is to put a cool demo somewhere into the zip.
folder names appear irrelevant to me.
