@CodeD, you shouldnt listen to these people or take every bullshit they say serious. In fact, pouet.net system is based on opinions and friend politic. Like if you tell some one to fuck off, the pig shearches for all your products and give them a thumbdown, soon or late all his friends will do the same. Also, some people give it a thumbdown because the demo wont start or something like that.
On the index page you'll see the tops of the glops a.k.a Pouet Gayest Users Top 10. Those are the attention whore's, people who like the attention, the attention they never get in reallife since they are so ugly.

My youtube name is DJWildrider and I accidentally put in Wildrider for my site link. It's fixed now.
I'm just starting to archive and upload my music on that account. My older account is LaptopNinja in which I have posted a few random videos of moderate hilarity.
At any rate, I can't imagine why someone would want to launch a personal investigation on me, for saying I programmed C64/128 Basic.

Well, I didn't know people considered the touting of Basic programming abilities as bragging.
People don't really 'brag' that they program Basic. You usually have to get them to admit it first. :P
Gawd, I think I've programmed in no less than 30 Basic/derived languages. Subtle differences, they get progressively better overall, or at data handling or graphics handling. I actually have a Blitz Basic 3D license as well, made by the same people who made the original Amiga Blitz Basic, BB3D/Max/Plus is a mutli-platform 2D/3D programming language for modern computers.
If anyone else uses the new BB, I'm CodeD there as well, and have some source code hanging around the archives.

Yeah, like keito says, if you want to do stuff, just sit down and do it. Keep in touch with people, chat on IRC, post on fora, avoid undue ingratiation and then people will come to you. I spent years making music just because I wanted to, then when somebody needed it, and when I was ready to say yes, suddenly a group happened. I don't believe the group comes first these days - the people, skills and creative intent come first. Then you slap a groupname on it and possibly use that name for a few further prods.
It's not the demoscene of many years ago where people audition, backstab, slander and fight one another to politic their ways in and out of groups. Other than with BDSE: you have to break three windows, kiss a girl and swear an oath secrecy before you can enter the group treehouse.
(Oh - bear in mind all the other useful places you could go to strike up conversations with helpful, enthusiastic people. Off the top of my head, ADA - Amiga Demoscene Archive has a quiet but friendly forum and a fair few users who seem keen to get back into Amiga coding after long absences. Pouet.net does something odd to otherwise amiable sceners - turns them into baying animals who post goatse, slag eachother off and pass arbitrary and unhelpful criticism on stuff they're not obliged to give a shit about anyway. And that's why we love it.)

don't get me wrong, stefan is a jerk, and your points are valid (at least this time), but i believe you're often making them in a too aggressive way. you'd do better being a bit nicer to people that you, in fact, know nothing about.
