Um, are remote entries accepted in any compo, particularly the ASCII compo (and other gfx compos)? If this is mentioned on the site, sorry for being blind, but I did not find it in the general rules nor the gfx compos pages.

Venomsoup: Sorry, no. Starting this year, girls have to pay, too.

Just to make this a bit more clear for everybody:

We have stopped the "girls will be granted free entrance" which has been a tradition until last year's tUM. The main reasons herefore are:

1. Generally we don't see any reason why we should have a difference based on gender (which by the way is illegal in Europe due to the "principle of equailty between men and women").
2. There is an increasing number of active female sceners. They enjoy the party just as much as the males, so why shouldn't they pay like the male visitors.
3. the costs of the location and the overall costs for the party have increased (Germany changed the German sales tax VAT from 16% to 19% and increasing energy prices). We already had to rise the entrance fee by 5,- Euro this year. Letting the girls get in for free would have resulted in a pressure on us to rise the entrance fee even higher than that.

Another not-so-serious ment reason is: having everyone pay the same entrance fee finally resolves the problem of the males dressing like women to avoid paying for entrance ;-)

Just to keep people away from thinking "those crazy germans".

It's of course NOT illegal to put up different prices for women and men. Noone forces you to go to tum (as it would be with, say, public transport (where a difference in price _MIGHT_ be illegal)), and it's completly up to the organizers to aplly whatever pricing scheme they want.

See you at tum!

regardless of this equality crap, I dont think legal prosecution would go a great lenght against organizers of an event like tum ;)

@ benJam:

about girls also paying their entrance fee.. just make sure that this is announced IN CAPS. at outline2004 we ran into some problems: some visitors didn't understand this rule (and refused to pay) as it breaks with a long demoparty tradition. so, better make it really really clear.

i have no problem with 5 EUR extra entrance fee btw.

soon will be forbidden at parties : games, porn, booze, smoke, pot, megaphones, sound system walls, pets, girls, gay costumes, ...

and don't forget to eat 3 fruits or vegetables and to walk at least 10min per day, thanx :-)

I don't care.

I'll wear a goddamn dress even if it doesn't get me a freebie.

No one seems to have replied to the questions about remote entering?

Unfortunately i got no time to participate... Still, as i live in karlsruhe, a travel tip: If you got some time to spare, i can only recommend to check out the Center for Art and Media ZKM (see http://on1.zkm.de/zkm/e/) that has a large media museum and exhibitions on media- and interactive art. Really original and absolutely worth it.

Thanks for the tip! I arrive early on Thursday and was planning to visit Karlsruhe anyway.
**NEWS**

The website has been updated. Now there are infos about remote-entries as well.

PS: sorry for the delay and that we didn't reply on that topic earlier.

Hey!

As (maybe) mentioned before, digitale kultur e.V. is (again) offering a bustrip straight to the partylocation this year. We will depart at Cologne Main Station at around 12 on Tuesday the 27th and be back at 29th in the early evening (leaving the partyplace shortly after the pricegiving).

Price for the whole Trip is 40 Euros for "strangers" and 35 Euros for Digitale Kultur Members. If you want to attend, please check this for more info. We still have some places left (eight or so).

See you there...
