I need some new links...

In case of C64 pixelgraphics, you could try CSDb's advanced search feature and search for C64 graphics under the Release Specific Criteria section.

Nice to see these old pictures again. Some are not scaled from Amiga-HiRes correctly and some names are incorrect. ;)

Nevertheless a nice collection...I'll have a look at my old backups for some food for your site.

el-topo: I have a fair collection of random shit lying around on disks and hard drives. The question is, are you looking for those old lbm, iff, etc pics to convert to png yourself or are are you just fine with scene.org and gfxzone packs with all gfx already converted to png? I'm pretty sure I have a few of those old or even original party release packs somewhere (years 93-95). If you think that I could be of any assistance, I could try to dig up stuff.

zefyros: If you have stuff not present at scene.org that were released at parties I'd be happy to include that aswell. Quality stuff that were not released at parties is ofcourse interesting too but I'll have to think about how to include that without messing up my neat directory structure :) Most of the early stuff at scene.org is ILBM, PCX or GIF, so far no indexed PNG which is my prefered format. If you have them already converted that would be a plus ofcourse since it would save me some work.

hempest: Yes, Boris is the grandfather of most (you say all) demoscene graphics. On occasion I see something fresh though, but it might be because I don't know about the original :)

...

Btw, grfxvault.org isn't supposed to be a complete mirror of everything. The stuff I've included is selected through my own personal taste. Just so you know.

Well that should be obvious if one visits the site and knows how to read.
But anyway I'll check my stuff. I don't think there's any rare quality stuffb (most of them were released in compos with high ranks and or in packs), but I think I can help you date some pics to correct parties and so on. I'm actually pretty sure about one pic which cannot be found in results, but I'll dig some "evidence" up first and send you a mail.

zefyros: Thanks.

About scaling, it's pretty much a guesswork from my side. I just assume that for instance a 640x256 pic with weird aspect (looking squashed in either direction) was made in a interlaced screen mode, so in the "stretched & enlarged" dir I include a 640x512 version. Not knowing if this is the correct resolution I'm happy to recieve pointers of any errors.

A 640x256 image can ofcourse only be "squashed" in the vertical direction but examples of horizontal squashing exists too :)

I love pixeled graphics, i've got most my face ones saved out from gfxzone, and that STart page has some amazing ones i hadn't seen before...due to being an Amigan :)

I'd prefer only the good old Amiga-Hires (640x256) images to be stretched to 640x512 for correct ratio. The rest should be left untouched concerning the resolution.

sent you a mail btw...more up soon.

just my 2 cents.

It is very sad that there's no decent resources for scene art (either pixel or modern day stuff) and all that hard work is not being shared.

Has anyone tried contacting the gfxzone mods to see about a takeover?

i tinkered with the thought, but decided not to due to an utter lack of motivation to categorize any non-palette-based gfx...
