BEST. BREAKPOINT. EVER.

now.

Sdw: When Drifters and the other winners were called on stage, Clary said something like " we refuse ". The face of the orgas was all WTF?!

It doesn't really matter but there are slightly better ways to say you think another prod deserves a higher place.

I think that was unfortunate wording, I'm sure that's not what she meant - plus if your prod is getting jeered from the crowd, I can see how you get a bit more acerbic.

I'm a bit ambivalent about this. They did won fair by votes, so I don't see why the booing... but I can understand why they offered their prizes to Elude, so i guess in the end there shouldn't be an issue made out of this.

It's all good.

Drifters' decision has been a gesture of pure beauty.

im 100% certain that drifters meant it as a funny little prod to commemorate their anniversary - they usually have nothing but respect for the people doing the more hardcore programmed prods, and were thus stunned by beating what they thought was the rightful winner..

i thought it was a VERY nice gesture on behalf of clary and the undisputed rulers of anims in the midst of all the ZOMG IMMA WIN NVIDIA GFX CARD WORTH A BILLION EUROS ballyhoo. Not being able to do a very eloquent speech when faced with 800 people booing their own voting, when you had 2 seconds to prepare is not very surprising - I actually didn't think it was that acerbic, just a bit shortworded.

oh.. and stefan trying to stir controversy as usual should just be ignored :)

yeah the Drifters reaction was real cute! Max respect! I've never seen such friendly gesture ever at a prizegiving.

kong gustav approves drifters!
All my repact goes to Drifters ! This is what the demo scene should be about : the respect of the amazing work done by others... this should have given idea to the 64k winner !

Even Chuck Norris shed a tear at that moment!

nytrik: the 64k prize was collected on their behalf by someone who had nothing to do with the demo, so that might have been a tiny bit inappropriate :-)

(+1 kudos to Drifters too)

This year fucking rocked! Good mix of funny and serious productions.

Skål ta mig FAN! Dancing with the danish, norwegians and the huge mushroom to the DnB set was so wicked.

That's absolutely 100% correct. The demo wasn't made to win any party (which should be quite obvious I think) but just to celebrate the 20th birthday of the group. Not more, not less. And thus, it felt simply wrong to see the Elude demo become 2nd which was the reason for giving the price to them as they, by all means, deserved it!

Great Party, thanks to Scamp and the whole organizer-posse for an experience I will probably never have again...

nice party. but i still think it's incredible for a party of such magnitude to keep something of a cosy atmosphere. it's amazing that no laptops get nicked or other nastiness. the incidents with the cars were unfortunate but resolved rather well by adding more security. big respect to the organisers.

for me there are still too many strangers to fully appreciate it. will probably go to BP2009 (if there will be one?) if enough dutchies need a ride.

I wouldn't call it the best BP ever due to the sucky weather, but that's not the organizers fault. Organization wise, they managed to improve again. The bigscreen was awesome and the streaming ruled from what I've heard. The opening ceremony was also very funny. There's not much more improvements I can mention because BP already was so perfect... So ehr, maybe best BP after all :-)

nytrik: If you meant in the amiga 64k compo I had

1) not seen the other entries (busy with awards preparations) and
2) like gasman said, absolutely nothing to do with the production apart from knowing the ephidrena guys (who left like, 15 minutes before that due to the bus schedule)

I had a Blast.!

thanX to all attenders and the orgas ofcoZ for everything.! :)

SCHEISSE,that wuz too good.!
great party, great organization as always.. nice to see the demo compo running on time this year and went on with no hitches, props to the orgas for that :)

only thing i would complain about was the kebab bloke behind the counter was so pissed he couldnt even serve me on sunday night!!! Also they didnt understand that when you ask for a vegatarian kebab (without meat) you really shouldnt use the tongs used to pick up meat to serve it into the pitta bread!! sorry but that service was terrible..

all in all, fucking awesome party.. bring on next year!

I had a great time in the Koeppel hotelroom :) After admitting defeat, what saved this easter from total disaster was meeting friendly people at the party. Many thanks to the organizers for their friendly attitude and pro execution. Seeing demos on a big screen like that after 14 years was a thrilling experience.
